Awesome!! So, do you think that testing passed smooth as silk and they are starting to paint??? Like I said, it shouldn't be all too long before Peach gets its debut on one of the lines!! Perhaps when they get Peach on the line and since they are used to running with only 11 trains, they can take one train per week and do the tune-ups needed... And not only that, but I heard they are actually getting a lot done with the beams!!

I just thought of this... Perhaps they will take either the old Pink paint or the current Coral paint and mix it with Orange to make the Peach they are going for?? Or do you think they will use a brand new color altogether??

My understanding is the paint is coming from Tokyo. I don't know how true that is. Can someone confirm they have a peach monorail in Tokyo?

Yes, Disney Resort Line in Tokyo does have a peach train. However, from the pictures of seen, it appears to look pretty close to WDW's Coral.

Perhaps since Coral already has the deltas, Peach will not.

I imagine Peach will have more of an orange tint compared to Coral, wouldn't you think??

so does someone have a pic of monorail teal at another resort? We can compare color. My understanding is that color also came directly from another resort.

Additionally, I was told the reason they didn't do maroon is because they want it to be an existing color from the rest of the world. I was also told purple is not in operation at DL(or wasn't for quite a while) after the crash.

Monorail Teal at WDW was the first use of that color for Disney. Whoever gave you that excuse for not using maroon simply made that up. In the transition at Disneyland from Mark V to Mark VII they removed the existing trains and replaced them with new refurbished ones using the same colors. They decided not to spend the money to have all 4 trains and although it was planned Purple was never built. This was just a coincidence as this decision was made before the accident.

It's not going to "act" any differently than any of the other monorails, they are all identical.

Ohhh, I wouldn't say that. Ask any monorail pilot and they'll tell you each train has its own, shall we say, "personality." Some break better than others, some accelerate quicker, some ride smoother. A lot if it probably has to do with whats been worked on/replaced but either way, there are subtle differences between them.

LIKE HERBIE!!! I've heard Red has the fastest top speed, while Coral has a tendency to either over run or brake badly.. I'm not sure which, I read it somewhere. I heard something once about Yellow having the smoothest stops? Although that might have to do with the driver... I also think Black was a rough one? I am not sure...

Any perceived differences are very subtle and always changing. Parts are continuously exchanged between monorails and so the elements that would create any particular quirk are moved from one train to another as they malfunction and are refurbished. The number of passengers actually plays a bigger part in the way a train handles.

^what they said

Each train did have a little bit of a different feel. But nothing extreme. And it does change from time to time. There was a time where Blue held 41-42mph on Epcot but a few weeks before I left, it didn't do that anymore...just 38-39ish. My favorite Express trains to drive were Black, Lime, Blue in that order but most pilots have their own preferences. Black is #1 for me because it seemed to have the best brakes, and in my opinion Lime was one of the best for acceleration.

It's all just personal taste. I know that Red was generally hated, but was my favorite train. It was my favorite train to drive on Resorts and Resorts was my favorite beam to drive. Cab 6 (end of the train you drive Resorts out of) of Red had the best horn I think!
