We were at church this weekend and had a fairly "famous" violinist performing a concert. In the announcements, it plainly stated "no photography/video/no cellphones" due to copyright. This ignoramus in front of me totally ruined it for me by whipping out her phone and clearly taking video, phone up over her head...She was the only one I saw doing it. Just RUDE!!! And it couldn't be blamed on "millennials" or younger...this nut was at least "gen x"

I wish people would realize what they’re filming is 100% already on YouTube in a better quality version. Just enjoy the ride!

Phones should never be pulled out at church unless its discreetly (such as if you have small children and might get a text), although so many people use their phones for their bible instead of a physical copy, that its hard to tell who is texting or playing a game or reading along.We were at church this weekend and had a fairly "famous" violinist performing a concert. This is exactly how I feel during any nighttime performance at WDW. Are you really going to watch the entirety of Harmonius on your phone after your trip? Let alone the amount of space it takes up on your phone. Or instead of watching the live performance through your phone as you record, just put it away and enjoy being in the moment.
Also, on my last trip a big peeve of mine on dark rides were all the Apple Watches and Fitbit bands lighting up with alerts throughout the rides.

I went to a concert recently and people were constantly filming entire songs. The band has music videos and taped concerts we don't need you and your tinny sound and bad picture filming. This applies to WDW as well. Professional photographers have taken millions of photos of rides and the castle. You want a pic of you and your family in front..great but you don't need to film the fireworks show. You won't watch it again and if you try to make someone else watch it they will just pretend to be interested don't make them do it.

I think it’s gotten better where not as many people feel the need to film everything. There’s no need to talk on the rides, just add a voice over if needed. I like taking pictures of the Savannah and Fireworks but I always try to hold my phone a few inches out from my mouth so it’s not in anyone’s line of sight.
Well, I’m happy to know I’m not alone. I always assume I’m being too sensitive!
I rode HM once and a group of ADULTS were screaming through the entire ride. It sucks paying so much to go somewhere, waiting in long lines, then having someone ruin the whole experience for you and your family!

The church is also partially to blame if nobody enforced the plainly stated rules. The no LCD screen part is hard to do nowadays (my cellphone is my only camera besides a tiny but nice magnet mounted insta 360 go2), but I make double certain that I set my screen brightness to minimum and sit in the last row (e.g. American Adventure or HOP) .. Courtesy is a dying thing sadly

So, it really peeves me when idiots pull out there phones (that aren't strapped down) on fast-moving rides (BTMRR, Everest) and are filming the entire time. I had one moron do that one Everest and his phone did indeed fly out of his hand and nearly hit me--I was so ticked and when I reported it to the CM, and pointed the offender out, they basically shrugged it off. Why have it in the safety spiel if there are no repercussions?? Oh wait, instead of being proactive, Disney wants to be reactive after the fact, but only if there was bodily harm! UGH!!
As for rides like IASW, I don't really care because it's not really a dark ride. I get absolutely mental when it's on HM and pirates (or any other dark ride where my vision is impaired by nothing but phone screens filming the entire ride). I get it if you want a picture here and there, I am guilty of taking a few snaps. BUT, if they are taking flash pictures, I am not averse to telling them to knock it off, that they're ruining the ride for the rest of us. Usually others join in at that time. Learn to take your pictures without flash!
