Phone Booths Disconnected?

Who calls a phone booth anyway for a legitimate reason?

I just called in hopes of making someones day a little extra special, it's fun when people call the lines from other countries or just parts of the U.S. to see what's up at the UK pavilion or the Canada pavilion! Some people have told me they call in just because they miss Disney! :)

Well, the guys over at Communicore Weekly (George and Jeff) have made a game show segment for their weekly show by calling there and asking random Disney trivia to guests at the Park.

It was a fun little segment, which is how I found out the booths weren't working (they tried to do it on a live stream and couldn't)...

I really do hope they bring it back, it was a fun little thing to do.

You can call right now if you'd like.

Try calling (407) 827-9884
You may get something that sounds like a fax machine, but keep calling, I promise it works!

That's the Canada phone booth, and it's still working (just called!)

Well, if they don't get the UK booths going again, I guess I'll have the mom/grandma call the kid there...

Thanks for the heads up!

My kids love to call pretending to get a wrong number and see if the folks answering the phone buy it.
There is one lady named Peggy that I am sure will be telling her friends for years that she got a call from some bloke in the UK trying to locate his dry cleaning. :)

I decided to call WDW Guest Relations (that call made it through :) )
in order to see if there was a reason for the booths to not accept incoming calls, or where they just down.
After talking with Erica, then Suzette (both wonderful at what they do by the way), I was told that (a.) The incoming calls do not make the telephone company (Smart City Phone) any money, only outgoing calls do (?????). (b.) The phone lines were too busy with incoming calls for people wanting to make out going calls (c.) I could write Disney a letter, and they would forward it to Smart City Phone Company on my behalf.
I asked her if it would do any good. The answer I got was "at least I could let them know how I felt".
Just passing on the information I got.
If you would like to call Disney Guest relations to inquire about anything, here is the number!
(407)824-2222. Tell them specifically what you want to visit with them about and I am sure they will be more than happy to help you!
Sounds to me like this is a piece of magic at Epcot UK that we won't see back. I am glad our family discovered them before the "line got cut" :)
