Now, is that a Sugar Glider? (I think that's what they're called)

Yes..it most certainly is ;) Her name is Maya and shes 2 years old. How many people can say they have a Marsupial as a pet?

Budgies (budgeriegars) are small parrots of Antipodean descent.

Well..I actually didnt want on originally..they are a LOT of work (need to be handled at least 3 horus every day..or else they can die of abandonment)..but she really grew on me. Once they get "attached" to you..they will just stay in your pocket all day and never run away...

I have tought her how to play hide and go seek...its her fav game...I must say..the damn thing REALLY has grown on me...

The upside (other than theiir intellegence) is the fact that as far as cage cleaning goes...it takes maybe an hour a MONTH to clean her cage..and she eats very little (5 bucks a week for food)

Im trying to breed her (I want baby gliders), but at last attempt it didnt take...so I have to try again in a few days....

I think you might need another sugar glider for that. That might be where you're going wrong...

damn...I only usually take my iggy's out once a week, lol...Just wondering, how do you play hide and seek with a sugar glider?
what do they need in their cage? And do you bring her places? When my brother had his snake (I forgot to add that to my list) he brought it to the mall once and nobody even noticed

Sheri, thanks for the pic..... it is cute, but I know that I would never have one running freely in my house or in my bed!! ;) :D

Marcia, my gekko was a leopard gekko :(

Maria: here's yer pic :) This is what mine looked like

Yep,looks just like mine. Sorry about yours...we found that even though they're nocturnal, we still needed a heat lamp, plus a heating pad on the bottom of the tank. If they aren't warm enough, they can't digest their food. It was close; luckily, we have a vet who specializes in herps just down the road.

I heard it's not good to have a heating pad in it. We had one for our iguanas but the vet said it wasn't good because if they sit on it to long they fry, or something (We did NOT want that  )
What I did when Gex was in my room, I had the heat lamp on and during the day if it was too bright (which doesn't happen much because I rarely open my window) I put this black blanket type thing over it so it'd be dark for him, and when I closed my window I would take it out so I could "talk" to him :)

Basically...i let her run free..and she hides..poking her head out every so often to see where i am...and then when i find her..she barks (yes..they bark)..its actually much cuter when you see it in action...

I take her out with me all the time..since they are nocturnal...during the day all she does is sleep..so i toss her into my pocket and she sits there all quiet...

 They bark?! like a dog? How incredibly odd.... By pocket I hope you don't mean your back pocket. Things might get kinda messy if you forget she's in there and accidently sit down

Right...That'd be interesting, wake up in the middle of the night and hear it squeling, I'd think I was being abducted by aliens or something  hehe

I'm sorry...I didn't phrase that well! The pad is stuck to the bottom on the OUTSIDE of the tank, then the bottom is covered with sand, and I have rocks covering the heated area, with a "hidey hole" on top of the rocks. I have another "cool" hiding place on the unheated side. It doesn't get hot on the rocks, just warmer.

Oooooh I see, sorry...I think we have something like that on my iggy's old, smaller tank, but it's on the side...Now we only use lamps
