About to take off from SF. Trying to figure out how to get to Hollywood from Long Beach without cash. Bus connection to the metro may require cash. Might have to take a taxi to the metro station...

I decided to take a can to the metro station for $18 plus I left a $5 tip with the card. Bad news is I forgot to take my luggage out of his trunk.

Good thing I saved my receipt! I called the cab company and they called the driver but his voice mail answered. They left a message. So, I am at the metro station where I was dropped off waiting. The can company has my phone number. This vacuums!

The metro line I'm on now is actually a light rail line. I see now why light rail is popular with politicians. It's smooth, speedy, leave a small footprint, and comfortable to ride (besides being cheaper to construct, operate, and maintain)... I like it!

You've experienced a number of different modes of transportation in just 2 days. I'm interested in the light rail line; that must have been fun. Despite a few hiccups in your (financial) plans, you're doing a great job getting yourself around in a state you've never been to before. (By the way, I'm happy to hear that you got your luggage back, too! )

I'm really enjoying the pictures of Hollywood as well.

I use the Red Line (the Union Station/North Hollywood line) to get to my second job. And I was just at the Hollywood and Vine station (the station you got off on) last week.

My university is not too far from where you're at right now.
