I've never seen a road on a hill this steep! Remember, I'm from Florida. There are no hills where I'm from!

Any way, I just checked in to my next hostel without cash! They will use the credit card I used to make the reservation with when I check out!

This hostel is in a much better location than the other one and so far it's a lot nicer! Time to go exploring!

More later!

I've just been suckered into buying two tours for $40 (combined). First one starts in 15 minutes of the Golden Gate Bridge. Second one is a night tour of downtown. My battery only had 28% power left and left my solar charger and batteries at the hostel. I'll post a pic of the bridge and keep my phone off until I get back to the hostel.

Phone died when we got to the bridge. I'm on the night tour with both my iPad and iPhone and an extra battery. It will give another bridge photo op that this time I won't miss!

Did you know Skywalker Ranch was in San Francisco? The tour passed the LucasFilm headquarters (are you listening @StarWarsGirl95 and all my Star Wars fans out there?)! I had no idea it was in San Francisco! I thought it was out in the boonies somewhere in Northern California! The tour guide said that LucasFilm gives free studio tours! Had I have known this, I would have made sure I would see it! I really wish I had more time here!

There's so much "hidden Mickey's" here. In every nook and cranny, there are things to see. There are museums hidden in dead end alley's. Just lots of details that people don't normally see, hidden from view, but someone spent lots of time creating that detail just for someone with the curiosity to look behind things, over things, under things, around things, away from things, or right next to things... to see!

There's something in the air here that makes people live this city. I'm falling in love and wish I had more time here!

EDIT - by the way, the tour guide said that Disney agreed to keep the Skywalker Ranch tour free for a number of years.

Hey Peter,
Sounds like you are having fun. I'm back in school as you know, so I really can only keep up with WITWIBS on a nightly basis, but I will try a thorough read-through this weekend when things calm down. Crazy homework load for the first week...
Thanks for the heads up! I'm posting mostly pics and one sentence posts because there's no time for in-depth writing now. But I thought you'd be interested in Skywalker Ranch. That was a big surprise! Never expected to see it on my trip!

With Disney owning it now, they can expand on the tours of it and make it a Disney mini-park when their agreement to keep the tour free ends.

Good luck with your classes!

Checked out of the hostel. Sorry no pics, but this one was 1000 times better than the first. More on this later. I'm on the BART now on my way to the airport to catch my 8:50am flight to Long Beach. On the way to the station, I walked through downtown and took pics. I tried to capture the post-modern neogothic-look of the architecture.
