I hope a refurb of the INSIDE of Peter Pan's Flight will happen at some point during the Fantasyland rebuild and expansion.

Are we to assume that this is just a freshening up, and it's not going to have a major change like the exterior of Winnie the Pooh?

Seems like that would not happen until something new opens as they will need the capacity. Long term they almost have to rehab it.

Glad they are refurbishing the front... a re-themeing would be better... but... glad they are at least cleaning it up. I agree with wishing they would refurb the ride itself... as far as what would you like to see them do... at the very least a fresh coat of paint on everything... some of the scenes are really showing their age... in addition to that... maybe incorporate some of the improvements seen at Disneyland and DLP (Fiber optic lighting effects, star field flying from London to Neverland, etc) and I would REALLY like to see them redo the audio... Captain Hook's voice is HORRID... at least get the guy who voiced him for Dream Along to record the "Help me Mr. Smee, Help me!"

Pan is one of my favorite rides and honestly I never thought I would want to see it updated, but in reading some of the ideas posted above, I think I could be on board with an upgrade.

That scrim looks horrible though....

If you have been to Disneyland you would be really excited for a refurb.

Anyone who hasn't been to Disneyland didn't know what they were missing, and most folks didn't quite get what the differences might be. But now the 1971 tech in WDW's version is getting so obviously old and tired that even those who have never been to Disneyland are wondering when the big Pan rehab will be.

Interesting thing is that Disneyland's version was superior on the inside starting with the 1983 New Fantasyland makeover that brought a lot of that fiber optic tech and more advanced animatronics. It's not a new concept. But over the years since '83, Disneyland management didn't stand pat and just kept plussing and fine tuning and keeping it all in great condition, most recently in the fall of '09 with the new boats, updated loading area, and new ride audio system, plus some general TLC.

When was the last time WDW's Peter Pan was closed for even a routine cleaning and tune up? Have they really just been running that ride daily for years, with just some exterior painting every so often???

This ride needs some serious help. The ride itself would benefit immensely from some upgrades, and why on earth haven't they given this always long and boring queue some interactive elements à la Soarin'?

According to RAXIP on twitter, the main "tent" of Peter Pan (assuming the entire sign piece w/ tent) was sitting backstage, viewable from the railroad.

So this could mean a few different things... A) They're going to repaint it back there. B) A new tent/sign will be placed. or C) An entire new facade will be placed.

I'm hoping for C.
