Peter Pan please refurb?

I first came to Disney World was in 1996: I'm still waiting in line to ride Peter Pan (graduated high school right from the queue). If they refurb I'd love to see them create a more efficient loading system.

That is true Fastpass does tend to slow down rides a lot, but are a big help if you are the one using it.
Only for that one ride. It artificially increase the lines at all the other attractions in return.

If fast pass was not around your time spent waiting in all lines would be less than they are now. You are simply getting immediate satisfaction but the end result is longer wait lines for everyone everywhere else.

I completely and totally agree. Peter Pan, to me, is one of the most magical rides at WDW, with a great story. However it is very dated. The figures barely move, if at all, and the whole thing has a very carnival-esque 70s feel to it (especially the Neverland scene). That's not always a bad thing, but it works against Pan in this case. Unfortunately, I highly doubt this ride will be refurbed for a while. Like others said, probably in off season after all the other rehabs going on in the park are completed.

How did I and millions of other people survive just fine without the tacky cheap effects that's destroyed so many lines already?

Pan needs money toward the ride itself over any nonsense interactive junk.

You didn't grow up in the iPhone generation? They need constant stimulation.

Then how did they wait 10 hours in line to get their latest istuff? ;)

They had to get as much as they could out of the previous generation while they waited in line. When you have a phone that has a 1 year life max before becoming obsolete, it becomes stressful trying to justify the $500 cost.

Wait...why I am my justifying these people's behavior?! It is because of them that some people think my generation is dumb :D!

I don't think they are tacky at all. It really adds to the ride as a whole and helps pass time for all of the kids waiting in line.
I like Everest... Now there's an attraction with an interactive queue that doesn't have to rely on next gen. I think more props and structural items is the way to go for queues.

I agree, that type of interaction is great (and Everest is a good example). Star Tours kind of makes me feel that way as well (both inside and outside, although I haven't been since the new one came out so maybe it changed?).

I don't think Everest really counts as an "interactive" queue, as far as I know there's not really anything that guests actually interact with in it (at least not that I know of). It's just well designed from an aesthetic standpoint. And that is a good idea for a queue, having a lot to look at. But actual interactive elements are often very annoying. The new Pooh queue for example is very nice to look at in a lot of ways (by far more aesthetically pleasing than the old queue and facade), but the constant popping from the interactive elements are complete hell to have to endure when standing in line.

Peter Pan needs a pretty big overhaul IMO, but it's the ride itself that needs work. It basically needs to be brought up to standards set by Disneyland's and Paris' at the very least. New better animatronics, better effects in the ride itself (I love Paris' fiber optic pixie dust effects on the boat), and the superior soundtrack taken from the movie itself. There's even a minor level of speed variation to how the vehicles move in Paris. While they're at it, the dual rows of the Paris vehicles would increase capacity. I'd be in favor of a new outside facade as well, not a fan of the old medieval tent look after having experienced Fantasyland in Paris. I far prefer the more authentic European architecture they've used since 1983 now in other parks.

While playing with their old iStuff!!! Silly:rolleyes:

Good then they can use the same istuff to occupy them while in line at Disney (as they do now) instead of the company wasting resources on interactive crud, not half as interesting to them then whatever they've got on their portable devices.

Whoah...put the gun down and back away...it was a joke.

I for one leave every electronic device save the digital camera in the room safe. Park time is time to hang with my family...not ignore them (like so many families I see). Quick story...last trip we had dinner at R&C in EPCOT and were seated during ROE. We were seated on the outdoor patio on the second level by the railing, the table below us on the lower level was a table of four. Three of the family members watched ROE and the 12-13 year old boy sat there and played soccer on his iPhone through the entire show. I typically could care less what people do around me but I am not sure who I wanted to slap (figuratively) more, the parents or the kid.

ST version 2 keeps the same style inside but has a few next gen features but that fits since its a sci if attraction to begin with

shakes head. Before fastpass the line moved slowly, but it always was moving. Fastpass has made wait times artificially long.

Tech wise, yes it needs an overhaul in the attraction itself. NextGen to me is just permanant Ipods for the short attention span people that plague the world nowadays. Afraid of zombies? They are already surrounding us.

The story of the family with the kid playing on his whatever console, Seen it plenty of times, not just at Disney. We were at Pizza Hut a few weeks ago. A family of 6, 2 adults and 4 kids ages from 4 to 15 maybe. Each one had some sort of electric gadget in their hands playing games, watching movies or talking loudly to someone on the phone. And yes the adults were doing all three at once. They said hardly a word to each other, except they were profoundly rude to the waitress, which happened to be our normal waitress, who is excellent, sweet and well, excellent. They complained loudly to the manager and while they were still there I pulled up the manager and gave him the real story, in a louder than normal tone so they could hear it.

No attention spans, rude, ignorant, no manners, and stupid is rampant nowadays in people.

Exactly!

All I ask is that they update the AAs. For as tacky and out of date Pan is, it has that special Disney something. Give it new state of the art AAs and a little TLC in the show sets, and it would be absolutely awesome.
