Perfect Disney Trip

We have been the week of Christmas, the 2nd week of September and are going again the second week of September. My husband is an HVAC tech and we can never go during the summer time because of how busy they stay (uh hello, Alabama summers are HOT). So we go the week in between my daughter's bday and his in September. When she gets older and in school full time we will be going for fall or spring breaks. Booo!

Back in 2010...we went Dec 7-13. I was thinking that would be the perfect time, but the crowds were higher than I expected and while you can't control the weather, it was very cold during much of our trip. While I thought I'd prefer cold to hot, touring the parks in 30-40 degree weather is not too fun. Which is funny b/c I LOVE cold weather...beg for it every year since I've moved south...but I just don't like it at WDW. Give me August any day! Seriously though, I'd prefer 80-90s since it also means there are more rides you can ride...i.e. Splash and Kali are far more enjoyable when it's warm.

In light of this, my ideal dates in 2013 would be Sept 27-Oct 10.
- Crowds should be low
- MNSSHP should be going on
- F&W should be just starting up
- fall/Halloween decorations
- Temps are still warm
- Get out just before the Columbus Day crowd rolls in
- Totally miss the bigger crowds right at Halloween, but get the Halloween fun
You made a lot of valid points, thank you!

If you could travel to WDW for a week (excluding holidays), what dates would you go? Take into consideration crowd level and weather.

Ooohhh great question. Since we have been for Christmas and Halloween, as well as during pretty much every other season, I have to say that I love best the traditional decorations. Although the holiday decorations are great, I love the regular traditional non holiday decor. So, that being said, I like it cool and low crowds so I would say late January or early February between MLK and Presidents Week to avoid some crowds. Next would be March/April - avoiding Spring Breaks and Easter week before and after.

I would love to go in the beginning of December. I figure it would be low crowds and all the decorations would be up. Unfortunately, I'm a teacher and so NY state basically tells me when I can and cannot go on vacation lol.
