lol I didn't say my daughter couldn't find anything to eat there but I can guarantee you there are children who don't eat uncrustables, quesadillas, or rice bowl slop and I don't label that as "something wrong" ....I label that kids

Depends on your parenting philosophy, I guess. There are lots of parents that expect their kids to choose from what is offered and eat it. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one. Kids will expand their palate and learn to love a variety of foods if they are encouraged to do so.

I encourage my kid to eat lots of things and we ate there the other day. I appeciate your concern for my parenting though

Oh for heaven's sake...I wasn't talking about you. I was responding to the comment that you know of some kids that wouldn't eat PB&J, grilled cheese or a rice bowl and that's called just being a kid. I disagree. I think they are incredibly picky because parents allow it. I said absolutely nothing about your parenting skills. I honestly wasn't even paying attention to if you had kids or not. I was commenting on what you said, not on you.

And to add further, I really don't care what anyone does or doesn't feed their kids. I just don't think you can complain to a restaurant that they don't offer food that your child will eat.

We really enjoyed the new menu. It was very Chipotle-esq. The fixins bar was great - all you want guac, sour cream, cheese, a few salsas, and a number of other things. We will definitely dine at Pecos Bill's again.
I can't believe we still have unlimited supply of guacamole and sour cream but we have no more cheap hot cheese, I didn't expect the guacamole to last past the first week..chips would be cheaper than both, so if y'all still want to keep the guac and sour cream i wouldn't count on free chips too!

This doesn't indicate anything. People went there expecting that they would still serve burgers and were not expecting a brand new menu. That's likely why they walked away. It had nothing to do with whether it's a good restaurant or not or even if it would appeal to these same people on a different day when they are prepared to walk in and see Tex Mex.

It was also so soon that those who will go and seek out this restaurant because of the menu change hadn't heard the news yet.

So, we will have to wait until the word gets out and reviews start coming in before we can tell by looking whether this is a popular spot or not.
Odd, I did not know that I was reviewing the food or attempting to indicate anything. I gave my experience. I am from Texas and have Tex mex quite often. I was not in the mood for it. The roll out of the new menu was off putting to many that were not expecting it. They would have been much better served if one of the myriad of CM's roaming around the restaurant would have been outside with the new menu in hand. A bit of forewarning goes a long way.

It's fine to not like something. But to say that you can't find something out of three or four choices to eat is pretty spoiled.

Umm...yes. And you will notice that Pecos offers the beloved uncrustables. That was my point. If your child cannot find something to eat from that kids menu there is something wrong.

Wow. Here I thought my son was an awesome eater. I had no idea that his dislike for jelly and melted cheese - pretty much the ONLY two things he will not eat - made him spoiled. It's a good thing I now know there is something wrong with him and can seek out the appropriate help he needs.

I'm not sure what you mean. I wasn't criticizing you. I was offering an explanation as to why so many people were turning away, building on your post. You and I seem to both agree here.

Nobody was having a discussion about your son. I was talking about people who complain about a restaurant's kid's options as if they are universally bad just because their child doesn't like it. I have already explained this.

I was there 3 or 4 days after the new menu rolled out and there was a CM standing outside with the new menu in hand showing it to people as they approached.

Then those weren't your posts she quoted?

I honestly wasn't talking about @NYwdwfan's son. I didn't even realize he/she had a son. Nor would I have any way of knowing that his/her son eats everything under the sun except for cheese and uncrustables. So, I apologize if it came across as a direct attack on your child.

However, I stand by my comments that children who are extemely picky eaters and have parents who think restaurants should cater to their specific desires are spoiled. I assure you I am not the only parent who holds this opinion.

I do not wish to discuss this any further.
