I wouldn't wait there either when I could be skiing in Dubai.
If Disney Quest was still open at formerly Downtown Disney, I would be playing video games all day long to escape this heat.

A few years ago WDW parks had signs " Skip the Straw " as an environmentality initiative. A guest has to ask for a straw if they want one.

Yup waited with my kiddos for rider swap mid afternoon in TSL and there is just no shade anywhere in that area. Thought I was going to black out on ToT afterwards. We used our cooling towels, electrolyte powders etc. Still lots of in people in the park. It felt very crowded In certain areas, but couldn’t tell if that was more cuz of Rise bring down forever, then Slinky. Today at AK felt much more pleasant with more shade.

It has been nothing short of oppressive heat here in Orlando. I typically bike or run during my lunch break, but not this week as it has to be at the start of the day. Our cats love to come and sit out by our pool and no takers this week. They watched us from the backdoor and it has felt quite hot with the water around 90 degrees paired with the air temperature.

Back when they first implemented it, you could ask for a plastic straw if you wanted one. I’d try to use just one for the day (when applicable), but I just can’t do the paper straws. They foam up whatever drink is in the cup, and often become too soggy to use within 5-10 minutes. GS will tell you that all dining locations and snack carts have them if you ask for them, but they don’t. Just a facade, for they assume no one would ask for one…

I feel for the parking attendants. Many faint due to heat exhaustion and dehydration. Their shifts aren’t greatly changed to accommodate the heat. Schools are cancelling all outdoor activities and recommending no one goes outside for more than 15-30 minutes. Parking attendants are walking back and forth on hot asphalt for who knows how long. Drinking enough water to keep up with the heat is difficult, and likely even harder when working.
Important note that is often overlooked, the feels like temperature is usually the “heat index” that only accounts for humidity and temperature. According to weather.gov, “It is the traditional measurement of heat stress due to high temperatures and high humidity. It is important to note that the heat index is calculated for shady areas. Direct sunlight can add as much as 15 degrees to the heat index.”

My time working in WDW Parking was the hottest, least forgiving activity I have ever done. There were zero accommodations made during a 'normal' Florida summer so I can't imagine anything is changing this year. Breaks are typically every 2-2 1/2 hours. So if you're in the lot and not in a shaded crosswalk or driving the tram, you're out there.

I think a number of table service locations now give out paper straws, without having to ask for them, but it might vary from CM to CM.
The QS tend to provide cups that do not have lids, and no straws. A few places had fancier environmentally-friendly straws, but I didn't keep track of which ones. Or maybe I'm confusing WDW with Universal, but I think it was WDW where we got some of the sugarcane straws that are great.

Yea, quite a few Disney resorts have locations that have the Agave straws. Universal Orlando gives out paper straws at most snack carts, but still gives out plastic straws at others. Siestas Cantina at Coronado Springs was the most notable place I saw the Agave straws at a Disney owned and operated quick serve.
