The general rule of thumb for this Warning is when the maximum heat index temperature is expected to be 105° or higher for at least 2 days and night time air temperatures will not drop below 75°;
:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: Had to laugh at "Night time temps" part - as if they drop below 75 much in FL - like maybe 2 months out of the year - tops.

This is definitely the hottest summer I can ever remember in my years in Florida. My a/c unit is working triple overtime to stay at 77.
That's all I care about right now - just keeping fingers and everything else I can crossed that my AC makes it through this summer but not optimistic. The only thing more brutal than the heat is the cost for repairs or a new unit in the middle of peak season. o_O

AC companies have customers over a barrel right now. Most with failed ACs are in no position to schedule and wait for multiple quotes or negotiate back and forth.

I'm babying mine as much as I can: no lower than 79/80 by day and 76-77 overnight.

Bad timing for the Tiana makeover, huh?

Here's hoping it will be completed by next Summer and not late 2024.
Particularly for the last two days and people paying what they pay.
It feels nearly 120 degrees out here!

Well there's Splash...wait.

Well, its Halloween decor season and parties are already starting. Might a well ride Haunted Mansion..wait.

In Disney’s defense, they’ve lowered the A/C temp. Buildings are noticeably colder than usual. Outdoor cooled spaces (beginning of Pirates queue, Jungle Cruise, etc) are perfectly fine.

That tends to feel that way when you come out from a more intense heat, particularly when sweaty.

Remember Test Track? There is a reason the hot room was first.

That's great if they actually did for some reason, but it does not change the fact that two major attractions are down at once, one for a long retheme and one for two days that is not long enough to do anything but stop the mandatory unload belt from shredding to bits.

That's a "no" for me.

Moved from a Heat Advisory to Excessive Heat Warning today.

By the way, I would like to point out the my hometown weather forecaster in Jacksonville, George Winterling (yes, that was his name) was the first to propose the heat index. "To account for the combination of summer heat and humidity, he created the 'humiture' calculation in 1978, which the National Weather Service adopted as heat index the following year."

While the data on the chart is technically accurate that temps are in the upper 90s and "Afternoon Heat Indices" are more than 100, by only showing the heat indices they want you to think temperatures are more than 100 degrees rather than in the 90s which they really are. Because, let's be honest. At first glance of that chart, you think temperature and you're going to swear it's more than 100 degrees because the weather charts said so. Only going back and examining it more closely will you realize it's the heat index.
