Hi there-

I heard someone saying today that he paid a fee (like 700 bucks) for his entire family to cut the lines at Disney world for the entire day or so many hours.

Can this be true? I have never heard of it.

I know we have FAST PASS and if you are handicapped, etc but paying a fee??

I just figured they did this - for a hefty fee - for celebrities (I'm guessing Tom Cruise doesn't wait 120 minutes for Toy Story Mania!)

Celebs just get an Uber Fast Pass. They get taken straight to the front of the line ahead of us common folk. LOL

There is a way that he possibly was able to enter fastpass attractions with very little wait. There are VIP tours that one can schedule through Disney where you have a guest relations tour guide take you through the park for a minimum of 175 dollars an hour. If you want to pay more than that you can get unlimited access to fastpass attractions, and the CM just shows a pass at the entrance to the ride. This benefit costs an additional $100 or so an hour on top of the already pricey VIP tour.

So for $275/hour you can get escorted through the park and unlimited fastpass? Dang - must be nice to have money (I guess it can buy happiness - or magic in this case!!!)

Sometimes when I talk to friends who've been to Orlando it's clear they get Disney World mixed up with Universal. That's probably what happened in this case.

I believe there's also something like a 6 hour minimum for this. In other words, you can't purchase one hour for $275 and run around the park to as many attractions as possible.

Yes, I believe that you are correct. The price is also contingent based on time of year as well. As expensive as it is, I always see at least a few groups with a guest relations escort when I visit the parks.

Like the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, Backstage Magic, Marcelline to Magic Kingdom etc.? We did the Keys to the Kingdom in September and it was $74 per person and we did one ride through the VIP enterence.

The VIP tour guides are sorta like what you mentioned only it's totally private. Only your family or group and costs the per hour rate mentioned above, has a 6 hour minimum, and the guide is more of an escort doing what your group has in mind. I do believe there's questions ahead of your scheduled VIP reservation so your guide knows what you're looking to get out of their service. Like if I was to ever do this I'd want it to be like Keys to the Kingdom on crack: lots of history, facts, background, etc.

In addition to the VIP info given above, I believe I read that the cost really does vary by what you are wanting. Like Evan said the cost starts at $175 per hour. If you want the front of line VIP access you add another $100 per hour. If you want to have private van transport to other parks and attractions there's an upcharge for that. Say you want to ride Space Mountain then go to the studios to ride TSMM. You ride Space, walk backstage, get in a van, drive over to the studios near where TSMM is backstage, hop out, and go ride. If you want a CM along to help with your baby while you hit attractions that can all be arranged for a price. It's amazing to think of the possibilities and the costs. But, you know, I think about it especially with celebs I think if that was the only way you ever saw the parks it would really stink.

No, I am talking about seeing families with their own personal tour guide. I have seen them eating meals together, going on attractions, and just walking around. Not one of your standard backstage tours that are being offered.

Interesting, I guess. As often as we've been to the World I don't think I've ever seen this. But then, I haven't been looking either.

I didn't pay attention to it until more recently either. But the next time you see a family with a GR host you know they are paying some big bucks.

Even if I had money to waste, I wouldn't want an escort. Being escorted around the park would remove some of the "intimacy" experienced with family/friends.
That's more important to me than getting ahead in line.
