I don't know about the crowds in October but we have gone the last few years for thanksgiving, is it crowded? Yes. But not horribly so and the crowds just don't seem as bad when it is 75 instead of 95.

We have never visited in July (mid to late June though) but we prefer Fall trips. Aside from F&W, the crowds aren't too bad to handle, although with MNSSHP plus F&W, one or the other park tends to get crazy busy on the weekends. But... that's when you visit either AK or DHS OR do a resort day :)

You will love it Hatter....the crowds are way smaller, easier to get dining reservations at the last minute, weather is fantastic. Yes the parks aren't open as late, but seeing as how it is easier to ride everything due to the smaller crowd level, its a push. Late nights are great for DTD during the fall.

True but don't count n those last minute dining reservations if they are offering free dining!

Yes there is a huge difference between those 2 times, you will get a lot of locals on the weekend though especially at Epcot due to the Food and Wine Festival along with the holiday. Midweek though and during the day most crowds will be significantly lighter than July.

No question about it. October is better than July. Hot weather, large crowds and those notorious Brazilian tour groups are not worth all that trouble. I'm sure you can easily plan around the Halloween Party or Columbus Day or other special events if they're of interest or not.
