EDIT: but then again let’s be real. Are 4 year olds enjoying POTC and HM. Probably not. So we should start rephrasing this as their is not a lot of rides for parents to go on that is entertaining for them and can get their kids on so they don’t need a rider switch or babysitter.
POTC, yes. HM, no.

The drops though. My son is pretty terrified during the drops but warms up to the ride as goes along.
Last June, the first time we ever road Screamin, I look over at my son after we started going and his face was white. I asked him if he was okay and he said no. He loved it though and denies that ever happened. 😂

He loves thrill rides, but his face always looks terrified in all of the ride photos hahahah

He tried to smile at the camera for Splash Mountain but it looks more like he's sucking on a lemon. It's hilarious.

Agree. I wouldn't even mind DCA becoming more of a thrill park -- Just as long as it's high quality. DCA shouldn't have to cater to the exact same demographic as DL. Let it carve its own niche.

How would that work as far balancing out crowds between both parks though?

The teenage/adult demographic is considerably larger than the 3 year old demographic. Again, kids can, AND DO, have fun with the thrill rides and you can bet they'll want to ride an Avengers/Spider-man ride. It's the really small kids that won't be able to enjoy any thrill rides.

Besides, I love the idea of DCA becoming the park where the "older kids go" when they get at that awkward age where Disneyland isn't cool anymore.

Does anybody find it plausible to that we can be shipped Tokyo’s Happiness is Here parade after Pixar Fest ends? They just retired that parade today which is essentially an upgraded Soundsational. They’d be able to retire PPP after Pixar Fest ends.

Disneyland is always cool.

But if your plan gets rid of all millennials from Disneyland, count me in.
I've always loved Disneyland, but I've found working with kids that the middle-school "IT'S NOT A PHASE MOM" demographic is usually when the division starts (although admittedly it doesn't last long.)

OK, sure, but I'm asking for opinions about the ratio of attractions with greater restrictions on age/height. In principle I see nothing wrong with a Disney theme park with a bit more muscle and that caters more to an older audience than Disneyland.

I’m ok with that too but I think there should be a couple more attractions that serve all age levels that don’t include spinners.
I do like that DCA is adding more attractions that help attract the older crowd especially since it also offers the food and wine festival and they sell alcohol but it really lacks on rides that are indoor, entertaining and last longer than a minute and can be enjoyed by all ages

I also think they should aspire to greater things than just simple spinners or bumper cars. And in a park with limited space, I don't think they should waste the space on things that only small children who hate rides can ride. It just makes more sense to think unique and a wider appeal margin.

That’s true, in the case for bugsland it is a waste of space but if placed properly around the park I think they sometimes work.
That is why I think that they can keep the ride count up without loosing all three rides.
Looks like flicks is moving to Pixar Pier. Heimlich and lady bug boogie rethemed would take very little footprint in the already unused sections of grizzley peek that are too small for anything else.

I don't mean to say DCA should be non-family oriented, but it's okay for it to cater more toward older kids and up. It will never equal DL at what DL does best, so it shouldn't try. It can still be diverse and family-friendly while offering a bit more thrill (and I certainly wouldn't mind some less expensive family flat rides (NOT "kiddie" rides adults can't take part in) sprinkled around to give families with smaller kids something to do.

And also--I'm sorry, but--the CA theme doesn't matter. The public doesn't care. No one goes to DCA for the California theming. No one. People go for RSR, Soarin' and Screamin. Put Zootopia in DCA. Put Wreck it Ralph in DCA. I don't mind DCA being an IP adventure park (just, for cryin' out loud, do better than Pixar Pier) and let DL keep its original "Lands" identity.

Heavily disagree.
That's cool. But I'm on the side that sees the concept as a misfire (Knott's had already covered that theme pretty well). I think Buena Vista Street is awesome: a perfect reflection of Main Street and a great jumping off point. I think Grizzly Peak is fine, but wouldn't mind seeing more fantasy than history there. The Pier...whatever at this point. Hollywoodland is nice but replaceable. Cars Land is a great fantasy locale. Bugs Land is history. And nobody cares about the tiny SF and Monterey tributes. The CA theme presently forms a pleasant background for everything else, but it shouldn't hold back any good ideas just because they're not about California. Now all we need is funding for the good ideas.
