Wouldnt you like to be suprised??? There are many characters in your range, but it depends on what disney measures you at. yeah you could be 5'8 but that doesnt mean anything....

Well you'd have to go through the audition first to be in Entertainment. Then, you go through a separate audition for Parades/Shows and if your color code is high enough they MIGHT train you. It's not like you get into Entertainment and you're automatically trained.

ah that's good to know- how do those auditions work though? are they like others where they only hold them like once every two months or something??that would suck if I wasn't even able to audition until close to the end of my CP or something!

I think that was very rude of the poster who told the original poster that they didn't care about the job, just what characters they could be. People ask those kind of questions all the time so they know what their chances are and get an idea of what they could do. I think the original poster was just curious. Sheesh, don't be so quick to judge.

Look, there's a good amount of posts about entertainment and characters every single week. It's always "Who can I be", never "What is the job like?" "What are the requirements?".

And ActingKid, if you do decide to go into Entertainment and get color coded, it's not really up to you when you get to do parades.

Exactly, you have to go to color codes, get a color code, preference it, and then hoped to get picked for a parade. I havent been picked to learn a parade yet, but hoping to. You just have to be what they are looking for at that time and have the right skills. If you wanna find out the height ranges its not that hard to PM a person, its called keeping the magic folks....

For the record...most cast members in entertainment won't give away info like height ranges and jazz like that, because giving that info out is subject to termination. Ususally when someone gives you an answer for the what characters can I be question, it's someone not in entertainment and just tells you what they think or may have heard. Just some food for though while making posts!!!

actingkid,
I'd worry about finishing high school (or junior high, if it so is) before worrying about that anyways. The audition process is considerable.

Few things.

A: You can't be a intern unless you're interning in something. I can't snap my fingers and become a travel intern instantly, that takes schooling.

B: I know everyones been mean to you about which characters your can be so i'm going to tell you. BUT, I can't tell you by their name because i'm not looking to get out of a job. Because of your height you would be perfect to work as a character whose name starts between the letter A or any of the following sequential letters up to z.

Hope that helps!

You have to be enrolled in college in order to apply for the college program. You can do the CP your spring semester of your freshman year though. And yes cp's are in parades, but that doesn't mean the you will, you have to audition for entertainment first and then get color coded to get eligible to be trained in a parade.

I'm not sure which characters are in that range...it's a pretty big range, you know, I'd think the majority of the characters would fit into it...

As for working 2 jobs, what I've heard is that you need to be in your current position for 6 months before you're eligible for Cross-Training, and then at that point you could switch around. I'm not sure though, better wait for a current CM to answer!

I think the other posters are trying to tell you that there is no way of knowing which parade character, if any, you will be until after you audition and are given your "role.". Since you're only in high school, there's a good chance that there may even be new characters by the time you qualify. Also, many apply, but few are chosen. There are many, many, talented people who are working non-entertainment jobs because they didn't make the cut, but hope to make it next audition.

However, I seem to recall seeing a list of character heights a long time ago, so you could try doing a search.

No. You can not be in 2 different roles as a CP. So you could only do ops or entertainment- one or the other. Also, you can't do parades until after you make entertainment and get color coded.

I'm locking this thread because the OP asked the same question, and got the answer, last March.
