Pandora - The World of Avatar opening day reports

I am pleased to report that the FP line (at least for River Journey) was a quick 12 minute wait for me a few hours ago.

I am continually stunned and blown away by the level of detail and sheer size / beauty of Pandora. As someone who doesn't particularly care for the Avatar film and soon-to-be-franchise, this may be one of my favorite things in all of WDW.

I'm also surprised that people in line were complaining that the line was actually 3+ hours long. Did they not believe the signage? What were they to expect on opening day at 4:30pm? I heard a guy scream at a CM "There are infants and ederly people in this line, for THREE HOURS! Why do the FP people get to go first, we paid just as much money as them!"
(Simple solution: don't get in line!!! UGH.)

Anyway, I am very much looking forward to heading back there tonight after my Mama Melrose dinner.

(P.s. Solo traveling is absolutely the way to go in Pandora!! ;) )

Wow. I wish I could say I'm surprised about the outrage towards the line. Like you said why get in line?

Glad you enjoyed it!

Well if that was the intent, they failed in that regard. Volcano Bay is currently at capacity. They literally could not do better today. :joyfull:

They could have actually finished construction! ;)

I'm just wondering why the said complainer didn't book a FP if it was so important. And the "not a resort guest" route means: nope you didn't pay just as much for the extras that, in this instance seem to be big incentive.

God help anyone who went to Volcano Bay today it was nowhere near capacity yesterday and it was an absolute s show.

Posted about it at length in spirited thread so won't go into it in detail again but the only comparison to be made here is Disney opened up a fully completed project on time successfully, and Universal absolutely did not. It arguably shouldn't have been open at all yesterday.

I was fortunate enough to get on FoP this morning. Got to DAK a little before 7 and was off of FoP a little after 9am. The ride was just absolutely amazing.

The MDE app is saying both rides are closed. Can anyone confirm this? Also, I'm staying at the Yacht Club and saw they weren't letting anyone else into Pandora. Was planning on going back in a little for EMH. Will they let me in?

So much that my friends who went to Pandora early this morning left to go over to Volcano Bay for their 3rd visit because they loved it so much and it has a full day of activities.

...and Disney spent 6 years on a single land in an existing park.
