All right! Who voted "I don't do breakfast foods"?! :fork:

I have to admit that one of the votes for "I don't do breakfast foods" was mine. When I eat breadkfast I eat eggs, hashbrowns and toast.

Here in San Antonio they are shreded potato and fried in a frying pan. I hope this helps.

There are several forms of hash browns...

In common, they're all some sort of fried potato shreads, as if you put a potato through a cheese grater.

Sometimes they come in a lump of shreds, fried in a pan, typically served with eggs.

Sometimes they're sorta like little potato cakes, typically these come from fast food places and often they're nearly identicle to tater tots, but tater tots are for dinner and hashbrowns are for breakfast ;)

The final version is the actual potato cake. It's a wedge shape, comes from Arby's or McDonalds, and is a larger single version of a tater tot, just flatter. It's common to call it a "hash brown" whereas the plural is reserved for the smaller tater tot like "hashbrowns" (they come in serving of many) and the pan fried is almost always refered to in the plural.

Nice fresh donuts are the best, but since they are not listed I had to choose French Toast.

I'm sorry, but pancakes are just soooo boring! You can't even begin to compare a pancake to those awesomely delicious Mickey Waffles.

Nothing starts the day like a big Mickey Waffle, at WDW or here at home.

I had one this morning.:slurp:

Wow!! Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! My students are gonna love it!

I voted for pancakes, but I must admit that if the waffles are done by the Waffle House restaurant, now I might change my mind...

Waffle House waffles are great... and there is one right outside of WDW, near the Downtown Disney entrance... One time we ate there as the last reasonably-priced meal we would have for a few days!

Paul

P.S.: As for hash browns, the Waffle House wins again! I'll have mine "scattered and smothered" (scattered on the grill, smothered in onions!).
