Didn’t realize the blurb on the website mentions Frozen. Surprised they kept that float all this time.

I guess this means they don’t include the newer Incredibles float for this run? Although I’d love them to have both.

“A Parade of Celebration!

Delight in the return of the Paint the Night Parade—an after-dark sensation that ignites the night with electrifying enchantment.
Dare to be dazzled by one million brilliant lights and popular Disney pals in this stunning technical spectacle, flooding the streets of Disneyland Park with stunning color and fun surprises!
Watch Sorcerer Mickey conjure glittering visions with a wave of his hand while Tinker Bell paints rainbows resplendent with pinches of pixie dust. Celebrate with Elsa, Olaf and friends from the beloved Disney film Frozen as they wave hello from a glimmering ice castle. Be surprised when other Disney Characters appear—reminding us of wonderful stories from some of your favorite Disney movies such as Monsters, Inc., Cars, Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and more—who may include:
  • Ariel
  • Belle
  • Buzz and Woody
  • Mike and Sulley
  • Peter Pan
  • Rapunzel
Filled with high-energy music and cutting-edge special effects, this shimmering river of luminescent floats, costumed performers and the world’s best-loved characters promises fun for the whole family!”

The Zip part will either be a dance break like Festival of Fantasy or be replaced with the anniversary song like Storybook Express.
The Zip part ends the parade with Mickey on a float that has Zip scrolled across as the song plays, so I doubt it'll be just be a dance break. They will need to have a new song and new scroll display.

Well they are kind of rolling back some of the DEI stuff. Maybe Zip comes back. Honestly it should and I can see a world where Disney brings the song back into the fold one day. Maybe not this time but at some point in the next 10 years.

True but it’s not like Zip has anything to do with that. CMs will be just fine. Getting rid of Zip was a massive over reaction and completely unnecessary. Granted the whole Splash conversion was but banning your Disney Parks theme song was so over the top. Also I wouldn’t say many decades. Maybe a decade. Decade and a half tops with a massive shift during the last 4-6 years.
It's only seem like its been shorter since its been more customer facing recently. But Disney has been very progressive internally for decades. And I suspect none of that will change.

As for Zip, maybe it was an overreaction, maybe it wasn't. I don't want to relitigate that aspect of it, I just think it would be too soon to bring it back but we'll see. I just have a feeling they'll make a change to the finale so its something else as the final song. Maybe like an uptempo Wish Upon a Star or something.

Sure perhaps internally but t wasn’t really showing up in their content or policies until pretty recently. Meaning you can be somewhat progressive internally and yet still stay away from politics and keep things close to center for the good of the company and its bottom line which they are clearly trying to do now after moving way too far in one direction since 2020.

We'll see what happens, I'm just not expecting much more than lip service like I mentioned.

How is it just lip service when just a few weeks ago they were talking about how they rewrote a certain character and eliminated storylines/ dialogue in that Pixar series on Disney+? Are you saying that didn’t happen?

I’m not saying that didn’t happen, I’m just saying I don’t think it’s going to be the major changes as I think some envision.

I don’t want to get this thread bogged down in this topic as that is not what this thread is about. So lets just move on from this and get back to PtN.

To be honest I think them keeping ladies and gentlemen boys and girls in the intro would be way more impactful to some than Zip. I strongly vote for both remain in PTN but I’m imo if Disney is ok keeping the intro as is then Zip shouldn’t be an issue either.

Agree on both here. I am hoping in a world of moderating view points - and I prefer to stay out of politics - at least these 2 non egregious elements can stay. But I agree the opening, with its nods to the MSEP is REALLY important to stay, especially with this being a anniversary offering.

Plus, Anna and Elsa will rejoin the parade on the fan-favorite float inspired by Disney Animation’s “Frozen” when it makes its return to Main Street, U.S.A., for the first time since its initial run.

Glad we got confirmation about PTN's Frozen!
