Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

This thread is hysterically funny. Here's what I've taken away thus far...
  • PTN is staying in Disneyland, and going seasonal once the 60th Celebration ends in September. PTN will return to Disneyland this Christmas. Disneyland has no business case for getting rid of PTN and will keep it long term.
  • WDW still has Disneyland's old MSEP and will be keeping it for as long as they can, although Magic Kingdom will probably get a new night parade for it's 50th in 2021.
  • There are tight and narrow turns both "onstage" and "backstage" at Magic Kingdom's parade route that prevent big floats from being used, while Disneyland's parade route has tight and narrow turns only "backstage" which allows them a workaround that allows big floats to be used.
All the rest of the info here is just fun commentary.

Where are the narrow turns onstage at MK and a post earlier indicated that the tightest turn was backstage at MK.

A source told me that WDW wants PTN badly, as it would a quick and relatively cheap way to give MK something new. That doesn't surprise me - WDW wants all of DL's shiny new things but never wants to pay for them.

I just hope no one at TDO is able to convince Burbank to force TDA into giving the parade up. Buy your own light parade, TDO. Buy your own.

WDW probably wants it for their 45th... Though even if they got approved for it there is no way it could debut at MK in time for the opening for the 45th in October.

I'm not sure how long it generally takes to transport a parade, but PTN ends September 5th and WDW's 45th is October 1st. That gives them 26 days to bring it to MK. Plus if it's true that it will be back for the winter, maybe it'll stay at MK through the whole month of October and return to DL in November? But regardless it's been stated countless times that PTN isn't coming to WDW, I wouldn't be surprised if it does though.

As of this moment yes it's probably staying at DL, but it could be that WDW and DL are in talks.

As of this moment yes but it could be that WDW and DL are in discussion over it.
Personally I see no reason that TDA wouldn't let TDO borrow it if it's not going to be used, maybe they'll do like a trade type thing where WDW pays for the little refurbs the parade needs in exchange for the use for a little while?

Alrighty then Professor Ding-Dong. Like I said that is your opinion and I disagree. Your "petty" complaints about the music and the potato-face Spectromen are ridiculous when considering the fact that the parade is targeted primarily to children - which was the time I fell in love with the thing. If you would've mentioned the fact that you weren't a fan of the LED lights (if that's true), then there would've been no sense in knocking you down but hey we live and we learn.
I don't think he would sound like the perfect person to hang out at the parks.

I see.

Clearly you're still a child, if your hissyfit is anything to go by. Is this virulent reaction because you're still having some leftover trauma issues after the parade shut down?

Do you maybe need to eat your cookies, drink your juice, and take a nap? Maybe have some quiet time to "live and learn?"
Spectromagic never gotten LED lights. It mostly used old fashioned light technology. If you want to talk about a perfect electrical parade that currently uses LED lights look up the latest videos of Dreamlights after it's big upgrade.

What about the Mickey float?

Ehh. I think my thoughts on it at the time were that it was just part of another light-up parade, and wondering when it would end so that the walkway would open up where I was standing and I could go to the Haunted Mansion. After that, it's easy for me to get irritated by the content of the thing.

I'm not averse to a light parade, but Spectro just didn't light my fire and then annoyed me alongside my plans.
