Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

It makes sense to me.
-TDO decided that Spectromagic needed a big refurb.
-TDA is going to put the MSEP into mothballs while they do a huge redo on DCA.
-TDO and TDA came to an agreement where WDW will get the MSEP for two years so the Magic Kingdom can continue to run a
nighttime parade while they refurb Spectromagic.
-Somewhere along the line, TDO decides that the floats for Spectromagic are in such bad shape that it will cost too much to refurb
them. So, instead they're trashed.
-TDA sees that the refurb of DCA and their new World of Color show are so popular, they don't need the MSEP at the moment. So,
they continue to let Florida have it.
-TDA debut PTN to big crowds throughout the 60th celebrations, showing that there is a demand in the park for a nighttime parade.
-After running almost every day throughout the 60th, TDA realizes their PTN floats and costumes, with their new technology, need
some refurb.
-After getting some backlash, TDA realize that Florida still has their MSEP. They decide they want it back so they have a parade to
run while they give the PTN parade the time it needs to be properly refurbished.
-TDO, having not thought ahead after trashing the Spectomagic floats, are now left without a nighttime parade. (unless there's a future announcement coming about that)

This is the most logical explanation, but since Disney seems intent on throwing logic out the window at an accelerating rate, I can't quite believe it.

I was planning on going to DL again in July next year and I really, really hope that MSEP isn't still there at that point, but I'm afraid it will be.

Surely they have to have something in place by January or February, right? Seems like cutting out a night parade is too big of a cut to sweep under the rug.
As of recently there were no plans for a new parade. So unless PTN is coming or PTN swaps with TDL parade and that parade comes here it doesn't seem like WDW will be building a new parade.
As it stands the MK will not receive a new night parade for several years yet.

I'm planning a trip to DL for the first time for next July and I was hoping to see PTN. I wonder what will happen

I've never seen Spectro, but Disney never announced it was ending? It just never came back? Was there a reason?
The original plan was for MSEP to return at WDW for the Summer of 2010 and Spectromagic to return after MSEP ended that summer. However they kept MSEP longer then they thought and Spectromagic was never brought back.

Here's how hyped and excited the guests were back when Spectromagic was brand new circa 1992.

Wow I wonder why Disney chose not to bring Spectro back. :/

If they send DreamLights from TDL to WDW I will be flabbergasted. I don't know a better word for it than that. I see no scenario where TDL gives that up, even for PTN. Since they're only licensing the Disney brand, they aren't beholden to Burbank (another reason their stuff is so good - they aren't subject to Iger's machete) and thus don't have to send the parade if they don't want to send it. With the record WDW has with parade maintenance, if I'm TDL there's no way I'm agreeing to send them DreamLights.

I personally don't know whats going on with DreamLights and PTN switch, but this is what I was basing it off of.
Ive heard PTN to Tokyo, Dreamlights to MK. But that was easily 2 months ago.... could be old info.

I saw that earlier and would love it to happen, I just can't see TDL giving it up. If it was a Disney controlled park, I'd see it in a heartbeat because they wouldn't have a choice. But, DreamLights is longer with more floats that PTN - it would almost be a downgrade for them.

Also there was a couple comments that MK has backstage turns that would be too sharp for the Mack float and I think one other float, is there any truth to that?

the floats are HUGE. absolutely HUGE. Even while watching it turn corners in person your like "ahh is it gonna make it"
I haven't seen it in person yet, but I was facetiming with my friend while she was there last week and it literally looked like there were gonna hit her. She had a great spot on the street and it literally looked like they were coming for her lol. The only reason I asked was because I can't see them bringing it to WDW and then cutting floats because of the turns.
