Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Sorry if it was already posted- is there a reason why the Frozen float is going away? I actually thought the float was lovely (and i'm not all about the Frozen fever).

It can't clear the trolley wires in Hollywood Land and Buena Vista Street. Peter Pan is being moved from the top of the drum for the same reason.

The Frozen float can't really be altered, it's just too tall. So a new unit will replace it.

PTN better not at this point.

Of course not lol. They could get their own version for the 50th. That would at least be better than the other rumor of Steve Davison already working on a TDL Nightfall Glow style parade for WDW... Don't get me wrong I happen to love Nightfall Glows soundtrack but float wise? not so much. If that is the idea and style of a parade WDW has in mind, that would be a very poor disappointing nighttime parade IMO. WDW needs a true light parade like PTN, Dreamlights, SpectroMagic. Not floats with only light strips across them changing colors like Nightfall Glows floats.

I thought I read the wires may be removed- i'd be more than happy to sacrifice a float to keep the trolly wires and the feel :)

Thanks for the info! I'm excited to see the parade again for the first time in a couple years! We saw it on our wedding night and my birthday so it's become a special parade for me and my spouse :)

They will more than likely need a new night parade AND an equivalent to nightfall glow. Unlike MSEP, this new technology that uses LED lighting and onboard computers cannot under any circumstances get wet. At Disneyland they would cancel PTN even if rain was in the forecast for a certain night, or even if it barely drizzled. We all know how much it rains in Florida, so it's fairly likely the new night parade will be cancelled fairly often. Think of it like how Disneyland cancels their fireworks so much due to high wind. That'll be WDW's weather issue.

Well...now I'm depressed all over about the state of WDW's electric parade (or lack thereof). I thought this thread had been resurrected because there's been some new information. Nope. Situation normal: no parade and just the hope that there might be something for the 50th. . .

Well his perch will be moved to a different part of the drum so he's not in danger of hitting any wires. Similar to what happened with Jack Jack in the Pixar Play Parade when BVS opened.
I was under the impression that the drum float wasn't nearly as tall as other aspects of the parade. So for them to make changes to that unit for height restrictions, makes me more curious about the rest. Things that come to mind are Slinky Dog, the giant wave on the Mermaid float, Mac..

Clearance can be tighter when a human isn't involved. An abundance of caution is required for the performer. Anyway, that's what I was told.

Welp, now both resorts are without a nighttime parade, well until 2018 for disneyland, I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of the MSEP. Why couldn't they have just left the MSEP at WDW and the PTNP in Disneyland in the first place...

Mostly because TDA needed it to A.make repairs to PtN and B. Distract the vocal DL Fanbase from the bad PR that came with Mission Cashgrab.

@The Mom - It could be time for this thread to "glow away"/get locked. PTN isn't coming to WDW. No more reason for this thread to exist.

Night parades at WDW are dead and buried, They aint coming back and heck with the MK closing at 9 there is no time for one anyhow.

Heck at the rate they are going MK will close at 6 everyday so as to free up evenings for hard ticket events

DL will have two alternating parades and WDW will have none, But hey need to close the WDW MK for hard ticket events so no problem

So you believe that WDW will never get a night parade ever again despite many reputable insiders say that one is in the plans for the 50th?

OK, so now we're expecting nothing, so I guess when one shows up for the 50th (leaving the MK without a night parade for 5 years) I guess we're supposed to be relieved and thankful?
