Well I was thinking of bringing some wine from home, the small bottles seem to fit better in fridge at resort , has anyone done this??/ any suggestions? Yes I know I could purchase at resort store but I could buy 3 bottles for the one I'd like....And yes I am putting this in my checked luggage , unless I nix the whole idea..

Bubble wrap and ziploc bags?

You need to consider the weight it will add to the suitcase also, there is a weight limit on bags. So I would only put 1 bottle per bag. However, I probably wouldn't do this since it's vacation and just buy 1 bottle in World Showcase to enjoy. Just my opinion, of course

Just wrap it in clothes, it will be fine.

I have done this on domestic and transatlantic flights many times with no problems. Wine bottles are quite sturdy.

PS: Don't forget a corkscrew! I have done this and felt quite foolish.

Unless it's a rare vintage or brand you could probably buy it in Florida as well. Instead of trying to carry it on the plane why not stop in a store and get some on the way to WDW?

On top of putting the wine bottle in a plastic bag or two also put anything else in the suitcase that you don't want to risk getting wet in a plastic bag as well.

Though cork blowout is rare, you may want to purchase some "screw top" bottles. A lot of Australian vinyards have switched over, so you could take a couple of nice bottles of Shiraz or Chard.....

Bubble wrap then into a plastic bag. Or you can buy styrofoam wine shippers in various sizes that will protect the bottles from airline abuse.

Get some box wine.
There's a better selection , more than just white zin in a box.
We take them on the boat all the time because the beverage fridge is a little tight.

Ohhh box wine could get punctured, and the cork stuff is right too. There are these little 4 packs of wines that you can buy, they come out to about the same price as a regular bottle. They will fit perfect in fridge, you can open them one at a time(keep the wine fresh) and heaven forbid one should break, they are small enough that if only one broke it would not damage the bag really(or too many of the cloths).

Those are the exact kind I'm thinking of....Small , compact, plastic and screw tops.....and they fit great in the resort frigde!

I know exactly the type you mean, as I pack one if I'm travelling overnight by myself; it holds two 4 ounce pours, perfect for one.

Just wrap each one (take it out of the holder, of course) in bubble wrap, or even newspaper, and stick it in a quart zip lock freezer bag, then pack it in the middle of your suitcase.

I pack my clothes in the 2 gallon ziplocs anyway; I neatly fold a few tops, shorts, etc, slip them into individual bags (I label mine with a marker), then squish as much air out as possible. Sitting on the bag while doing the final seal really helps.

It makes packing more compact, protects the clothes, keeps them relatively unwrinkled, and you can rummage through the bag and pull out the exact one you need without disturbing everything else. It also gives you a supply of storage bags for dirty clothes, wet bathing suit on the way home, etc.

Just finished a 2 week, "live out of your suitcase", tour and the only time I had any wrinkles was after hand washing some shorts.

Buy it there. In WDW can be expensive, but all supermarkets in FL carry wine and at a very resonable price.

We were visiting my inlaws in Ft Lauderdale, Fl and had 4 bottles of wine that they gave us to take home and it was missing when we got home in NY. Since you cannot carry it on anymore ond most bags are searched I would say your chances of it coming up missing are good.

OK, this is how I pack for cruises: You put the wine bottles in ziploc baggies and then put them in a shoebox size plastic container (rubbermaid or the like) and use newspaper to cushion them. This keeps them safe and IF they break the newspaper will hopefully hold the alchohol in. This way you also have a way to bring breakables, such as ornaments, back home.
