My God, that looks really stupid. :banghead:

It looked better in the faux nighttime cartoon sketch they first released with all the red patio lights from Cost Plus. Don't get me wrong, it didn't look good in that first sketch, but it at least looked better than whatever the hell this is.

This is six flags level theming, slap a Batmobile and a sign in front of a generic rollercoaster and it’s suddenly “themed” to Batman.

Bolt a couple suspension spans on top of an unrelated style of bridge and add some signs… voila… San Fransokyo.

Lazy and uninspired.

I've never seen so much hate for a project before lol.

I might be the only one excited for this but thats okay. I havent been a fan of a lot of Disney Park decisions lately. But I am excited to see this.

My head canon is this is just an extension of Avengers Campus since Big Hero 6 is a Marvel IP.

Go check out the “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” thread. A bunch of complaints over details shared regarding the queue, not the actual ride itself.

I don’t hate it, I just think it’s pathetic.

There are a few issues some of us have with this project. For one, based on the concept art, it doesn’t look like much thought is going into this. I could be wrong, given it’s not open yet. But, the project comes off as lazy. Two, it’s another IP being lazily utilized, and what makes it worse is Pacific Wharf has gone 20+ years without IP. Third, yet again, Hollywood Land, undoubtedly the worst land at the Disneyland Resort as a whole, continues to get neglected while Disney Disney-fies and IP-fies DCA.

There’s also the Avengers Campus thread. If you’re feeling really adventurous, head over to the Epcot board and take a look at…just about any thread😂

Avengers Campus deserves the criticisms. An IP giant with sub-IP’s that lends itself to plenty of potentially visually stunning environments and attractions, and yet, we end up with Avengers Community College, Anaheim Campus. Not sure whether I should be looking for the Registrars office to get my unofficial transcripts or if I’m supposed to be some sort of “recruit” for a military-style project/mission.

What a waste.

Yeah I have NO IDEA what they were thinking when designing that land.

On the plus side, it should be easy to remove once the baymax cartoon is cancelled. Oh, who am I kidding, they will just leave it minus the signs.

I mean IMO this isn't terrible but its unnecessary. It's sad how even bottom tier imagineering from 2001 like the wharf is better than what WDI makes 20 years later.

I love the BIG HERO 6 movie and especially Baymax. But this makeover screams cheap and unnecessary. But in reality- not cheap at all, just like the Pixer Pier project.

This remodeled DCA bridge would look really nice as a themed entrance to a Benihana Of Tokyo restaurant in the suburbs.

That WDI projects now look like chain restaurants should be terrifying. And yet some folks have had their standards changed effectively enough by Disney's ever-lowering design/operational standards that they think this now looks acceptable for a Disney theme park.

Benihana Of Tokyo - Houston, Texas. You are immersed in storytelling!

What's really sad to me is the forced backstory about this being some struggling fishing wharf when in reality, this area of the park is always filled with people and busy. On my last trip (about a month ago) we couldn't even find a spot to sit, the area was so full.

Pacific Wharf didn't need Big Hero 6 to be successful. It already was. But I do find some humor in the fact their first attempt to course-correct DCA began with the removal of the Golden Gate Bridge, only for them to be rebuilding it elsewhere in their continued quest to ruin this park.

It's funny because this made me realize how Disney is removing the bad late 90s restaurant theming from Downtown Disney but is apparently adding it into their themeparks.

Makes me wonder if they had the old bridge sitting in storage somewhere and didn’t want it to go to waste so they found a way to use it.

I don't think anyone's touched the little detail in the Parks Blog description about how they're adding a floating turbine to the area. Judging by how successful the floating mountains at Pandora are, I won't be holding my breath.

Also, I find the suggestion that Silicon Valley (or the in-lore equivalent) is what's saving this cannery irritating. If this were real life, the "entrepreneurs" would be purchasing the real estate for pennies on the dollar and gentrifying it to look more like Avengers Campus.

They're truly wasting the potential of the San Fransokyo theme here; the concept of a multicultural solarpunk city is mouth-watering, and they're wasting it on a food court and a meet and greet.
