P I X A R letters at Toy Story Mania!

I had thought the letters would be smaller and spell out "PIXAR PLACE". I don't think people will have any problems finding the "place" now though. I hope they are lighted at night.

Thanks for the pics & links everyone. The archway looks great. I think it will be very nice. Can't wait to see it for myself. :sohappy:

Instead of the "I", I love to see Luxo Jr. up there "looking" back and forth like in the beginning of the Pixar movies. :ROFLOL:

Yes!

I always imagined the entrance to a Pixar area to have a Luxo Jr. animatronic looking around. Maybe not in the sign itself, but off to the side somewhere.

It could be a very simple animatronic, (with the simple mechanical movements of Luxo in the cartoons) but still be appealing.

What a great idea! And with a small camera so an off stage operator could shine a light beam at someone that follows them around. That would be great.

What is the other archway going to look like? From what we've seen so far, it is a completely different style. Wouldn't it make sense to have both entrances look the same (unless they are theming that side of Pixar Place to something else)?

I've also been wondering if the queue for Toy Story Mania might extend outside, into the "street." I speculate that if and when the Backlot Tour bites the dust and they install more attractions back there, another Pixar arch will go up approximately around near where Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is. I wouldn't be surprised if that went away, too, or rethemed. A Bug's Life would be an obvious choice.

That is why the mysterious arch has become even more..........mysterious
I understand now. haha Do you think this Parisian area was design and built before Iger decided no Ratatouille attractions would be built or is there a loophole in Iger's announcement somewhere? Maybe he hoped his speech would throw people off?

I remember attending the closing day of WWTBAM and wondering what was coming next. I never expected this area to change the way it seems to already, but it looks great! I don't believe I will be riding this at WDW unless I head down in September for 'World Wide Weekend" if the funds are available.

Otherwise, if the California trip still happens I will be riding the DCA version which will make do :)

My guess is (and it's only a guess) is that something was canceled. But that doesn't mean there won't at least be a restaurant. I am wondering if they planned a "paris" mini land for the rats but there may have been a conflict with the France pavilion contract at Epcot? Who knows how all that works? I think we will know more soon though.

Maybe has Pixar Place expands, every so often they will have a different arch themed to a different Pixar Movie...?!?

I was thinking the exact same thing. I also thought that the "street" might be made of little mini-"lands" from the look of the arch. So the effect would be similar to the MK as you pass from land to land. But since it appears that there won't be a Ratatouille "land", I really don't know what to make of the arch. As I said, it is quite the mystery. I can't wait for Pixar Place to open so people can take pictures and decipher what the arch is. Maybe then it will make more sense.
