I'm trying to get in Disney shape. Walking 10 mi+ a day in June heat. Right now I can do most Jillian Michael's workouts back to back. Is P90X worth the investment? And will it help?

I'm doing Power 90 before I do P90X. Not as intense. I'm not losing any weight but it has definitely helped my running. I'm more flexible, have more stamina and I'm taking less walk breaks. I don't take their supplements. I already do something similar.

P90X is intense and definitely requires you to follow the food plan if you want to loose any weight. I've done it twice and never lost anything, but I didn't really follow the diet. I've also done Insanity twice and TapouT once. I think I got the most benefit from TapouT, but once again I didn't follow the diet and didn't lose any weight. Now that I'm doing Weight Watchers I'm finally losing some weight.

P90X is awesome. I've done a couple of rounds of it, and P90X2, and P90X plus. You do have to commit though, you are looking at 6 days a week, between 1 hour and 1.25 hours per day. As others have said, to see results, you have to do the workouts AND eat well.

My wife went from Jillian Michaels stuff to P90X. It is challenging, but very doable.

Come to think of it, I went from Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred to P90X too. Then we went backward to Power 90 before I did Insanity the first time.

Do it! There's at least a 30 day money back guarantee, so you've got nothing to lose (except excess body fat ;) ) Chalene Extreme is also a really good option. Its like P90X but geared more toward women. I've done P90X, P90X 2, Chalene Extreme, Turbo Fire and Insanity and each program is great in its own right. The first 3 are more about building lean muscle whereas the last two are more cardio based. Good luck! :)

I'm a Team Beach Body coach and have done P90X and Insanity. I've stuck to the diet and lost 24 pounds. I didn't get the ripped results that you see on TV. I went from a size 34 waist to a size 30. Now, to keep the weight off I am on the bike constantly. If I use the indoor turbo trainer for my bike, I use "The Sufferfest" videos. Thesufferfest.com Also, Shakeology is a daily must for me. I use it for my post ride workout. If I don't ride, its just part of my daily caloric intake. Good luck. Feel free to ask any questions.

I am a graduate of P90X as well. I liked it and got the strongest core I have ever had. I too didnt get a 6pack (so to speak), but that was not my intent. I was extremely strong and rock solid. I think that there are certain people that have a body type that can achieve a 6pack very easily, some that could if they really work hard and some that might not ever. So, that wasn't my goal.

Yeah, according to everything I have read a 6 pack is not always something a person can achieve no matter how hard they try. I have been working on my abs etc for about 2 years and while I maintain a 29/30 inch waist, there is no six pack, rock solid but no real definition. Either you have the body type or you don't. I have known a few that have it naturally and don't even work at it, lucky lucky lucky.

Can we send them and the people who can eat what ever they want to the same place?

Luckily, my wife says 6'ers dont really do it for her. They are nice, but super muscular is a little gross.

Lucky me.

Actually I'm mixing a bit of Jillian Michaels Leslie Sansone 5 miles Kendall Hogan yoga zumba and a few others just couldn't justify the cost! I'm also walking 2-3 mi per day outside when I can but it's been fridgid! Thnx for asking!

Good job! I can understand your concern about cost it does seem like a lot at one time. But I look at it as an investment in my health and happiness long term. We use the programs almost daily and for years now so when you break it down by cost per use and results gained its a huge bargain in my opinion. The beachbody programs have been great for us but all that matters is that you find what works for you, that you enjoy and will stick to. Good job and good luck! :D

I have done P90x but switched to Insanity. I don't like doing either, but Insanity I see better results. :p

I did most of the P90X - I was at the time training for a marathon and was running 4 - 5 times a week 8 to 20 miles a day - so I didn't see the need for P90X cardio.

It works. People did notice. I had one person randmoly try to give me a back massage and say "holy crap, what is with your back? Did you get a job as Teamster unloading freight?" - Nope, P90X back :)

It is a LOT of work though. Every day you have to try and find time for it. I still have it, and I may start doing some of the modules again (mainly the yoga and the Ab Ripper X).

I LOOSE flexibility when I do it, I also loose flexibility when I run a lot. I stretch quite a bit and have been taking Tae Kwon Do for a number of years, so my flexibility is pretty good, unless I start putting un more muscle mass, and then my ability to Chuck Norris people above my head goes right out the window.
