Pre-Trip Our Psycho 4 Resort (split stay) Trip!

Anyone have experience and thoughts about resort hopping? We are returning to WDW in a couple of weeks and we have a crazy plan that has been changed numerous times in the past 4 months. Our kids are getting older and we wanted to make this a big memory maker.
Originally, 11 of us were to go and stay a week at Finding Nemo AoA in 2 family suites but my wife's father is getting treated for newly diagnosed skin cancer and her parents had to drop out of the trip. So here's what we have planned:
My family (DW & 5 kids) drive through the night from Balto to St. Augustine and tour the city for half a day. Then we drive over to AoA and meet up with my DW's sister and her son and we spend the rest of the day/evening hanging out and getting into the Disney mood at our Cars suites and swimming in the Big Blue pool.
We check out early in the AM and go to MK for the day (Mon). Then, using Bell Hop services, we check into Kidani Village at a 3 room Savannah view Villa with rented DVC points from a friend. We spend 3 nights there and surprise the kids (they have no clue we're going here). The next day we go to EPCOTT for the day (Tue). Then we go to a water park the next day (Wed). We'll eat breakfast in our rooms most days and take snacks into the park but eat out for dinner.
Next day (Thur) we go AK for the day and check out of AKV and into ASM (family suite and standard room). On Friday we go to the other water park for the day (5/23) and then after dinner go to MK for the 24 hr party! Don't know how long we'll stay but it's a once-in-a-lifetime event.
On Sat we spend the day at HS for Star Wars weekend. Sunday, my wife's sister and son fly home and we head to Sanibel/Fort Meyers to go shelling and visit friends. We drive back on Mon (Memorial Day) and check into our 4th hotel for 3 nights at PORS in 2 Royal rooms, which should blow our 2 daughters away!
We'll spend one day at Universal in both parks and the other 2 days finishing up in the Disney Parks and then drive home that Thur. Total days: 12. BTW, our last 2 trips we encountered 3 hurricanes in Aug so we switched to May.
Whew! I'm exhausted just writing about it but so excited! Go ahead, tell us how crazy we are...

Resort hopping can be hectic but it sure makes for a fun time! Enjoy each resort and the good thing is that. Disney will normally handle moving your luggage for you so you do t have to worry about loading it all up in your vehicle each time you head to the different resort.

Oooooh boy wow! Power to you but we'd never bother. Too much time wasted and not enough relaxed settling for us. Best wishes for your father in law. Have a great trip!!!
