So...I keep seeing people from all over the country, but I haven't seen a lot of you fellow Nashvillians. Are you out there?

My hubby's from Covington... We lived in the Wolfchase area for 3 years and loved it! :) hope you're doing ok with all the flooding down there!

We actually live in Atoka, only about 10 miles from Covington. We grew up in Millington but I used to hang out in Covington when I was a teenager. We were very lucky that we were not in the flood area. Very sad, so many people have lost everything!!

My sister lives in Franklin and works in Nashville. I'm from Memphis originally and still have family there. The Memphis flooding this year seemed to get a lot more media attention than last year's Nashville flood that involved a lot more property damage and lives lost.

The media coverage was also amazingly sloppy. On the Weather Channel and in the newspapers I kept seeing references to all the wonderful levees protecting Graceland and other Memphis landmarks. Huh? Those places are nowhere near any elevation the Mississippi, Wolf, Nonconnah, etc. could possibly reach. Protecting them with a levee would make as much sense as protecting the summit of Mt. Everest with a levee.

Hehe...wondered if this one would get a post out of you! You do realize I'm having my ten year wedding anniversary this year, which means that I've known you for like 12 years!!!

Yes time flies...how about this... Shannon graduates high school this month.

And yes...you started two very good topics.

Yeah I noticed the crappy coverage... Most of the time it was kinda laughable, some of the stuff they would say, especially on CNN. I'd go "Wait, what? That's nowhere near the river!"
My heart goes out to all those people there. We still have friends in Memphis, and a couple of them had to evacuate. :( Bless them all!
