Osbourne Lights question

Do they run the light show from dusk until park closing? What about extra magic hours? 12/12/10 DHS is open until 11pm with extra magic hours and I was curious if the light show would go until 11.

Yes, they go from dusk till closing. (starting around 6pm) The lights stay on until well after the park is closed. I worked at Fantasmic in 2008 & as we would be leaving about 2 hours after the park closed, we would drive past backstage & the lights would still be on.

yep, they stay on for EMH's. It's amazing - if you have never seen it, you'll be in awe. It is not my fave of the Christmas decorations but it is amazing - wow - awesome experience just to see it all!! :xmas:

Thanks to all for your responses. I haven't seen it but am very excited for it. I had to change a planned reservation at Le Cellier to the 12th from an earlier night that was booked so we will be at DHS later then originally planned. Now we just need December to hurry up and for that 40% off deal to extend to our vacation.

Does anyone know what date the lights will start this year. I know last year it was about Nov. 10. We are going Nov. 6 - 13 and hope they are on at least part of that week.

In Dec '08 we did the last (maybe only) Fantasmic! of the night. Most of our big group (family reunion) left but a few of us decided to head back to the lights as it had been quite busy earlier on in the week. It was nearly wide open and we got some great shots and enjoyed taking in the ambiance with few around. On the way out we pressed our luck and ran toward ToT a few minutes before closing and were able to get 2 rides in, including the last one with the car to ourselves. This and my little brother, 9 at the time, in actual tears on Dinosaur! are the only pics we've bought.

You will enjoy the light display; it's quite unique. Be sure to read the story boards, too. It will give you some insight into how the display came to be- the 3 million lights on the house in Little Rock, the lawsuit, the journey to Disney... I was lucky enough to get to experience the lights in their original setting, and while the Disney set-up is a completely different atmosphere, just remember that well over half of the amount of these lights were on one man's property... and the big tree was on top of his kitchen!! Enjoy your visit to see the spectacle!!
