Orlando's LM to be "slightly longer and a lot better"

So this is virtually the equivalent of getting information from a bus driver.

It's almost worse. It's like getting info from a bus driver who wanders away from his bus and stands in front of a construction wall and starts giving Imagineering speeches. :lookaroun

The fact that was giving information should have been an indication that he wasn't anybody official.

Edit: If there was any confusion, I'm still bitter about the Chris Beatty live chat on the Disney Parks Blog

So, that was my blog post (thanks for visiting) and I do think the guy was speaking in an official capacity. He wasn't just standing there slacking off and he was clearly some sort of middle management type. But I have no idea how accurate his comments were. Perhaps they were accurate that morning and not now? I'm still holding out hope that LM will open this summer but with the recent rumored delay of Dumbo, who knows?

Was his outfit tan and white? All coordinators wear tan and white striped shirts.

Also, if the person was from WDI, their nametag would have said WDI on the top instead of Walt Disney World. Even Florida-based Imagineers wear the WDI style nametag.

Not only that, but they would have been dressed in business casual, as that is required dress for non-costumed Cast Members.

Not all coordinators, just Magic Kingdom attraction coordinators. In most restaurants/QSR and merchandise they wear that locations onstage costume. Attractions tends to have different costumes for coordinators. The easiest way to tell if they are a coordinator, is they almost always have an earpiece and radio.

And I do believe he went out of his way to make an announcement that he should not have, even if he did know some insider info (most MK Managers do know more about FLE than we do). But from someone who works in the company he really don’t deserve to be put down by us, Coordinators have one of the hardest and most stressful jobs at Disney and do not get enough benefits from it.

Yup, there we go, he's a ride operator hourly shift supervisor in a tan and white uniform.

I'm sure he talked a good game, and he may be a very nice guy who just really likes his job workin' at the theme park, but he wasn't speaking in any official capacity. :lookaroun

RSoxNo1 may be bitter about the embarassing Chris Beatty "chat", but I'm still baffled by the decision by TDO to not have a Preview Center of any kind for FLE; either a real one in the park a la' Disneyland's Blue Sky Cellar Preview Center, or an online virtual one run by Imagineering a la http://www.disneycaliforniaadventure.com

Seriously, I have no idea. But you'd think someone would have put a stop to that kind of thing. I mean, that's a little crazy.

I still think LM is opening this summer and I'm stickin' to it.

World was undoubtedly flat too...

Nah, everyone seems to be saying September at the earliest except this one guy.

I agree that it is possible to open this Summer, but none of our credible insiders have mentioned anything about an earlier opening date then fall. I'm expecting a October 1st unveiling of the entire Fantasyland expansion (obviously minus Mine Train). I could see them doing a grand opening/anniversary celebration. I could especially see them doing this since we aren't getting a true grand opening with it being a 3 phase project.

Mind you, I'm only sticking to summer out of pure stubbornness. :) What I don't get is, why would this guy stand there for 20 minutes and talk to guests when he could be risking his job doing so? It just seems odd. I tried to write the post as non-committal as possible but I keep going back to that one thing.

I could see this happening. If you are a CM and big Disney fan you may be frustrated that there isn't a lot of information about the expansion being given out to the average guest so you take it upon yourself to try to remedy the situation. Not to mention if this guy was a CM at Dumbo he probably got a lot of questions from guest about the expansion.

Almost, but most attention on that date will be directed elsewhere ;-)

Summer ends September 21st this year I think, so it might just squeeze in before the end of summer.

I have to say I was a little disappointed with CA's version when I visited. I felt like it was really short and nothing really stood out to me. The detail was amazing as usual but nothing really made me sit back and say "wow that was amazing".
