Ok...so I've thought about this and finally came up with a decision (albeit from pictures only).

I chose the Great Goofini Coaster.

I chose it because of the land as a whole...it's a more "cohesive" experience rather than just attraction next to attraction themed to different characters.

So, while it doesn't have as many "in-ride" props...the surrounding area is so much better. Yes, I miss the barn...but it's ok. I would've liked some animatronics but I understand why they didn't spend the money because you flew by those chickens so fast that you wouldn't even see them unless you were looking for them. Maybe have some animatronic clowns "d__________g" as the plane flies by.

The ride is exactly the same...but the ride experience may not be as good...but at the same time, the entire attraction IMO has a better experience because you're immersed in an entire "land."

Completely agree.

I'm not crazy about either Barnstormer, really. I don't think exposed track coasters have a place in Disney parks. Barnstormer, Goofy's Sky School, Primeval Whirl, Flounder's FLying Fish...there's nothing special about these, really.

Casey Jr. at DL and DLP, and the upcoming Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster are better examples, in my opinion, of how Disney should be treating "thrills" for their smallest guests.

I'm totally digging the monkey, though.

To have a airplane "themed" ride as both barnstormer and great goofini are, you have to have exposed track. Planes dont fly on the ground. Just saying.

So you could pick a different theme. Or you could enclose the whole thing. Just saying.

The absence of exposed track coasters used to be a huge differentiating factor separating Disney from its amusement park brethren. I have been disappointed to see them proliferate, which is why I think the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a step in the right direction for providing thrills to the younger set.

Others may disagree, but I stand fast by this. Disney can and should do better here; they just didn't.

...but the exposed coasters are part of the theming...

DinoRama is a roadside carnival...and Storybook is a traveling circus.

Don't get me wrong..I'm in agreement with you...that having an exposed coaster cheapens the experience...and overall "look" of the park.

Better idea... how about "A Goofy Show"? :D

Based off the movie, I mean the movie was amazing. And if it was a show it wouldn't matter who hasn't seen the movie if it's good enough. The songs are sort of show-style anyways.
I thought "Goof Troop" counted as a show based off of the movie.

Does the theme really make a difference?

They might have been better off redesigning the track layout and making the ride longer. Ah well.

For the exposed track, The vegation was probably planted no more than a month ago, so give the vegation time to grow, then it'll provide a little better theming.

I see where you're going. Primeval Whirl technically fits within its theme -- even if it's a pretty poor one. But the Barnstormer isn't themed as a traveling circus coaster, which would actually work fine in this Storybook Circus -- you're supposed to believe that you're actually flying.

So you can better understand where I'm coming from, the exposed track coasters that I think work best are Gadget's Go-Coaster and the Indiana Jones mine trains at DLP/TDS.
