The new posters with the monkey are fun, but the original Barnstormer, with its props and animatronic chickens, seemed a bit nicer to me.

I understand the reason to keep the Goofy airplane theme, but I think it would have been a nice change as a Casey Jr. coaster or Pink Elephants on Parade coaster (yeah, probably too scary for little kids), or maybe a Timothy Wild Mouse ride.

If the Forest theme had taken over Toontown too, and they had to keep Goofy, I would have loved a "Goofy Movie" themed Goofy and Max coaster, with an encounter with Bigfoot.

I'm just glad it isn't a Clown coaster like they were originally planning.

If I recall correctly the original blueprints called it the Cheshire Cat Coaster.

Edit: NO...it was CHEESE COASTER

Goofini is WAYYYYY better..... you don't understand until you've been there.. it's just some much more fitted to the land now.....

2 things I dont like about the new version: 1, WoM chickens are gone. 2, there isn't as much scenery/color. It's so.. boring.. bland.. whatever.

Besides the looks, which I understand is different it's pretty much the same ride.
In the grand scheme of things each fits the overall theme of the land so I like them both.

My daughter and I were there today and here is the opinion of a 10-year-old who has grown up at Disney. The Barnstormer was the first Roller Coaster she ever rode, and the first ride she went on by herself, so she has a bit of an emotional attachment to it.

"The new Dumbo looks really pretty and the train station is beautiful. I like the little details that they have around the area -- Goofini's props for his different acts and the peanuts in the concrete. But the new Goofini is really plain. I miss the barn and the chickens. It is just too open and you can see all of the roller coaster. It's, like, right there in your face."

Maybe when the whole area opens up and the landscaping has a chance to grow in things will look better.

The barn has NOTHING to do with barnstorming.

barn·storm
(bärnstôrm)
1. To travel around the countryside making political speeches, giving lectures, or presenting theatrical performances.
2. To appear at county fairs and carnivals in exhibitions of stunt flying and parachute jumping.
3. To travel around an area appearing in exhibition sports events, especially baseball games.

uhhhh? sorry but you're a little off the mark

BARN STROMING is term for dare devils who flew airplanes through barns

what you have listed are all expressions or figures of speech derived from the about flying airplanes through barns like "bat out of hell" or "stone cold crazy"

Uhh No. I believe you are mistaken.

Merriam-Webster disagrees with you
Wikipedia disagrees
US Government disagrees http://www.centennialofflight.gov/e..._Setters_and_Daredevils/barnstormers/EX12.htm

We need time for things to happen.
My opinion based on seeing the first version first hand and the two pictures is the old one was better.

Being that I was only on the old version and have not been through the queue and seen it as it stands now I'll reserve judgement or the new set up until I see it in September.

I know the old Barnstormer was based on an old Goofy cartoon, however I don't believe this one is. Can someone comfirm this statement? :veryconfu :lookaroun

Better idea... how about "A Goofy Show"? :D

Based off the movie, I mean the movie was amazing. And if it was a show it wouldn't matter who hasn't seen the movie if it's good enough. The songs are sort of show-style anyways.

Old one, no contest. Ya the new one fits the area's theme quite well, but so did the old one and was better themed so I'll go with that one.

Who really cares. It's like a 10 second mini roller coaster for the youngsters to enjoy. The new theming fits just fine. The old one was good and fitting... The new one is good and fitting. Still the same ride, not a big deal. The overall detail of the small section opened is well done, and it's just a sign of great things to come and more targets for people to complain about. Can't wait till it's finished!

Ok...so I've thought about this and finally came up with a decision (albeit from pictures only).

I chose the Great Goofini Coaster.

I chose it because of the land as a whole...it's a more "cohesive" experience rather than just attraction next to attraction themed to different characters.

So, while it doesn't have as many "in-ride" props...the surrounding area is so much better. Yes, I miss the barn...but it's ok. I would've liked some animatronics but I understand why they didn't spend the money because you flew by those chickens so fast that you wouldn't even see them unless you were looking for them. Maybe have some animatronic clowns "d__________g" as the plane flies by.

The ride is exactly the same...but the ride experience may not be as good...but at the same time, the entire attraction IMO has a better experience because you're immersed in an entire "land."
