Oregon Trail game

I also LOVED the Carmen Sandiego show on PBS. I always felt sorry for the kids who had to do the Africa map at the end--the US one was soooo much easier. (although I do realize that LOTS of adults cannot find all 50 states on a map...don't get me started!!)

Loved Rock-A-Pella, and loved the villian names, although the only one I can remember is "Fatty Tissue". When Lyn Thigpin died recently, that was the role I best remember her for.

The computer game was OK, but I did get really tired of the travel agent. My kids were not yet great readers when we had it, so it was more difficult for them than Oregon Trail.

That show was fantastic. Even my grandmother watched it. Sometimes I would call her and we'd watch it together while talking on the phone. It was so much fun. The names of some of the other criminals were: "Patty Larceny," "Robocrook," "Double Trouble," "Vic the Slick," "The Contessa," "Top Grunge," "Eartha Brute," "Kneemoi," "Wonder Rat" and "Sarah Nade."

And last but not least, MUSEUM MADNESS! The game where you explored museum exhibits. Genius!

:sohappy: I played that game so much in my old school's computer lab!
About all I remember about it is the robot that you had to put the batteries in.

Oh, man, I was so addicted to Oregon Trail. I just played it a few weeks ago, actually! In my Stargate: Atlantis geekiness, named all the characters after those on the show, and they were eerily true to life... :lookaroun

I so miss Amazon Trail, though! I loved that one. I was addicted to going on the photo safaris.

Ok...so whenever I try to load both sides I get the first one loaded then I click to insert the second, it looks like it worked, but it just puts Otrail2 in the first inserter thingy and leaves the 2nd one blank. Does that make sense? Any idea how to fix that?

I played it on my Junior High's "Power Mac's." I remember that we couldn't save the game, so I'd keep playing the same exhibits over and over.

Did anybody play DINO-PARK TYCOON! I knew the money cheat...

I haven't had any trouble with it, so I'm really not sure. I click the first "drive" and select OTrail1, then click the second "drive" and select Otrail2. Then, when it asks for Otrail2 during play, I click the "swap" button. You could try "swapping" and then see if you can get the second disk loaded right, then swap back.

I don't remember the original Oregon Trai, but I still have the second edition. I go back and play it every once in a while; sometimes you just can't beat the classics.

So far for the AppleWin emulator I've found Oregon Trail, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego and Karateka. I used to love those games.

If the bone were to break the skin and the wound was not properly treated, it could get infected and you could die. Cheerful thought, huh? :D

Many years after playing Oregon Trail on the school computers, I got it free of a cereal box. I loved writing crazy epitaphs on the tombstones for other people to find. My favorite was "pepperoni and sausage" from the Tombstone Pizza commercial.

Dino Park Tycoon was a popular one when I was in school.

But the most popular was Doctor Quandary. It's the one where you got trapped in the body of a troll doll at a carnival. You were sent to a desert island and had to solve logic puzzles to get home.
