I choose to remain neutral, I see the potential in both options, and wouldn’t mind working on either, I can think of great ideas for both, so I’ll leave you the option to decide!
Agreed. That should be the goal.I think we realistically need to decide a park by the end of today (June 6th) to have proper timing of everything.
And while I do have a preference, I agree both have great potentialI choose to remain neutral, I see the potential in both options, and wouldn’t mind working on either, I can think of great ideas for both, so I’ll leave you the option to decide!

OMG I miss old MGM. Osborne Family lights were so much better when walking by the Golden Girls House.
This is a very sound argument.. I would argee that getting all of those to agree to a theme and create 12 to 20 unique attractions and a unique maps that blends everything together is the project that requires the most work.. However gives the most creative freedown.I'm throwing my vote in for Hollywood Studios for three reasons:
1) There are a lot of cooks in this kitchen. Everyone is going to have an option on what to do with California and this park could become very disjointed very quickly. The one time I had to do a park, I thought I had a pretty cohesive theme, but there was a lot of feedback that it seemed like I just shoved in lesser known IPs. With so many people doing one park, I think this could be a major concern.
2) We are under a time constraint. If we went with California, I fear a lot of our time will be spent weighing what we what this park to be, and then trying to get everyone on the same page. With Hollywood Studios, the theme and premise (although we can tweek it) is already there.
3) There is something for everyone already in Studios. There's the adventure section with Indiana Jones, the Sci-fi section with Star Wars, comedy section with Muppets, an animation section, the theatre, the music industry, TV, and even a "horror"-esque area with Tower of Terror. Everyone should be able to find something they enjoy. (Maybe we can divide the studio into movie genres?)
Yeah, the major downside to my argument is the loss of creative freedom that doing the California Park would give. Unless we go with California and put all of our suggestions into a randomizer (if we can't agree) and just go with whatever pops up. That could work, just to save time. This is a very sound argument.. Hollywood Studios gives a foundation to work on.
If we went to California Adventure I would have to say NOOO California. We have the foresight to know that the California theme did not work like planned.Yeah, the major downside to my argument is the loss of creative freedom that doing the California Park would give. Totally agree with that!If we went to California Adventure I would have to say NOOO California. We have the foresight to know that the California theme did not work like planned.
I'll concede on California. You said something about park layout that really struck a cord with me.The tally so far...
MGM - 3
California - 1
Many still remain neutral
Splitting the park into genres would be fantastic.3) There is something for everyone already in Studios. Is there any other way?Are they steamed?
So would we ditch the trams if we do this plan? What if for MGM we expand the theme right off the back to bring a collection of Studios.
Animation Studio - Animation Courtyard
Live Action Films Studio - New York Street/Backlot
Television Studio - ABC/Disney Channel stuff. Sounds Dangerous, Commissary, and Doug Live theater.
Music Studio - area built around the new Rockin Rollercoaster. I would suggest this as a connection path between Sunset Blvd and animation courtyard fixing Sunset being a dead end.
Muppets Studio - tiny land around Muppet Vision
Lucasfilm Studio - Indiana Jones/Star Tours
Video Game Studio - A very small are dedicated to the new form of storytelling. Just maybe an exhibit or two now with plans to either expand it if video games take off or get rid of it if they don't. Maybe a Sonic M&G. I would suggest taking over where one man's dream and the small Narnia/Pirates experience was. One man's dream can go anywhere. And that Narnia space isn't really big enough for anything good. But if video games are a hit they can expand to Pixar place
Silent film Studio - Sunset Blvd
Lot of small lands each with only one or two things that expand the scope of the studios park setting it up for plenty of options going forward while not losing what it started with

I think they could still go in the Backlot section if we still wanted to go that way.So would we ditch the trams if we do this plan?
I would lean against Video Games, even though I love them. They don't have the power that they have now. It was still a growing medium.I was with you until the video games. Not sure how that ties in with the Hollywood theme? I kind of understand about the storytelling, but I'm still not sure it would fit.
