Opinions on Coronado Springs

What exactly does that mean? What features comes with a stay here? Use of a gym / weight room? What about the spa? Is there a steam room or a sauna?
Yes, there is a gym (weight room, cardio, etc.) that you can use. If it has a steam room, I do not know. At the Spa, you can get massages and such. There is an additional charge for that, just as there are at the deluxes. I also recommend the site mentioned. Very informative.

Just got back from CSR today and honestly wasn't a fan. Room was nice but the resort has a clunky set up with the main pool far from the main building. We were in Casitas which I found to have a terribly confusing layout. And the food is rubbish. Pepper Market has extremely slow service and crappy sides (usually French fries or lays potato chips). Seriously? A $12 sandwich with lays potato chips when other mods charge $9 for a sandwich with chips made fresh? We got one kids meal for our kids and were told it comes with French fries and a cookie. No other options. How does Disney even allow that? The 1990s want their unhealthy food options back.

Conventions frequently rent out large portions of the resort (e.g. One night we were not allowed to stroll around the lake because the beach area in Cabanas was being used; several other nights, music was blasting from the Casitas 1 courtyard. Ugh.

Pluses? Generally fast bus service due to a nice location and, when you look from Casitas toward the empty marina, you can catch a glimpse of IllumiNations and you can hear the Fantasmic soundtrack clearly. Kinda cool. Cool pool area if you make the hike. And we liked the sliding wood doors blocking off the sink area. Nice if you have young kids who need quiet but you don't want to go to bed at 7 pm. Still, we prefer CBR or Port Orleans (either one). Obviously, CSR just wasn't for us.

Hands down our favorite resort of the deluxes and moderates we have stayed at. Plenty of busses that are not shared with other resorts. Pool is very nice and the ambiance of the resort is very relaxing. Actually having doors between the bedroom and bath is also a plus that we liked. Food has gone down hill a bit over the past two years but I think that can be said of many of the dining venues at WDW so I don't see that as a discernable factor.

We prefer Cabanas section, close to main building, bus stops and the pool.

I stayed at the CSR in 2012 and loved it. The grounds were beautiful and the bus system was decent. At the time the Pepper Market was a buffet and had a decent variety. I know it's changed since then so I can't comment on its current configuration.

I stayed in Casitas building 4 or 5, I don't remember which one. The room was nice but a bit far from the main pool but right next to one of the quiet pools.

It's been over a decade since I've been to any of the other moderate resorts, so I can't compare the few.

I admire your self-discipline, but for those of us without a fitness routine, walking around Disney is definately strength training. The problem is, we should be in training just to go to Disney.

I also like the Casitas since they are close to the main building, spa, I like the areas quiet pool , and all of the fountains are so beatiful

While I asked for Cabanas, I was placed in Casitas. I liked it a lot. Ask for Building 4 if you want to be close to the bus station. However, remember that the stations are numbered 1 to 4, not by the building. My first night, I waited to get off the bus at "Station 4" and realized it was in Cabanas. The Casitas bus station is #2.

Building 4 is right next to the pool and is a short walk to El Centro.

I have stayed their twiceand enjoyed it both times. One of the better themed pools in all of WDW IMO. The only downside for us was the size. It's a large resort with longer walks to almost anywhere you want to go.

Through the years, I have stayed at many of the resorts on property, from value to deluxe. Never had much interest in staying at CSR because of the whole convention thing. This past November, we ended up staying there in order to get free dining. So glad we did. We fell in love with CSR; it is now our favorite resort, second only to CR. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful it is. The decor, the lake, the pool are all awesome. The rooms are tasteful and comfortable. The CMs are friendly and helpful. My kids loved the wildlife around, especially the turtles and alligator in the lake. Maya Grill was one of the best restaurants that we have ever eaten at Disney; the steak melted in my mouth. The busses ran frequently and the resort is centrally located to all the theme parks. We requested and stayed in the Ranchos because the kids like the decor the best. Although it was a long walk from the main building, we were near the pool and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk to El Centro. If we didn't want to walk it, there was an internal bus for the resort that we could use. We did not want to leave the resort! We will definitely stay there again and we highly recommend it for other guests.

Not to change the subject but that is certainly the truth. Even if you aren't lifting weights or jogging, getting used to the idea of being on your feet is really important. Especially if you have little kids. Even if you intend to have a stroller handy, if it's at all possible with your schedule, about 6 weeks before the trip, you should start taking walks/hikes with your kids every day, and try to get up to at least a solid hour before your trip. It'll increase everybody's stamina.
