I feel people would be constantly taking their masks off to eat and drink. Especially in the summer when it's super important to stay hydrated.

Me personally I'd be touching my face more with a mask because of sweating. Having to readjust etc.

Walk with a mask in the middle of Main Street / M K in the middle of July , 100 degrees and that mask will be soaked by lunchtime.

😂 And see we can deal with it now because while it's hot, it's still breezy. Come late June, there is no way I can wear a hot mask anywhere in Florida. People pass out from heat exhaustion on a regular summer day I can only imagine with masks.

Masks are impossible. And I know the connection to China and Asia but I feel like it's a way of life for them. Wearing masks in the United States is new. And it's impossible to eat or drink with a mask, It would come off. It reminds me of the... And the city movie where they were at the pool watching someone eat fries

You can compensate with the rest of the ensemble. Mask, latex gloves, Motley Crue tank top, speedos, and my classy brown leather flip flops. So my medical gear is warm, but I've got lots of aeration spots as I think of them on the rest of my skin. I'll probably be sporting a fannypack too or else there will be no place to keep my spf 100 lotion. Need to think ahead. Life is all about compromise.
Inhabitants of Third World countries like you and I could take our cue from the developed world. Facemasks and umbrellas are commonplace in Shanghai Disneyland, which in the summer makes Orlando feel like a winter sports retreat. Surprisingly, permanent shade fits in the palm of your hand.

With the added benefit that it makes for an interesting group choreography during parades.

Westerner: masks are pointless, they don't protect me from infected others.

Easterner: masks are necessary, they protect others from me if I'm infected.

A play, by MisterPenguin:

Guests: Masks at Disney just won't *work*! We have a long list of *reasons*.
Government: We can go back to our old ways, but for the first six months, we all have to wear masks.
Disney: Our guests have spoken, they won't tolerate masks, so, we'll be shut down for six more months.
Guests: We can make masks *work*!!!

Hearing impaired guest -- " I can't understand what the guy is saying since I can't read his lips because he is wearing that mask! "

amazingly... there are far better ways to accommodate someone hearing impaired. They typically can’t lip read in a large crowd with the speaker in the distance.
That’s why closed captioning and sign language are typically required under the ADA.
And wow... sign language and closed captioning work with masks!!

Not when a cast member approaches the hearing impaired guest trying to explain something and both are wearing masks! No closed captioning on Hollywood Blvd.

And the breathing impaired, and kids, and then changing them every 10 minutes as they become sweat soaked, or god forbid you sneeze or cough from an irritant not cv19 related (because those haven't gone away).

So the hearing impaired (not born deaf but those who've lost hearing-there is a difference) who do rely on lip reading won't be able to converse with those next to them unless they have mastered sign language. And amazingly even parents mouth words to each other to communicate. Not end of world if can't but it is more than just "amazingly there is CC"

If a guest loses their lunch after riding Mission Space, the face mask will stop the puke from hitting the floor.

Damn, I guess no society could possibly use masks in warm weather.

oh... except millions and millions of people actually do it successfully.

you know... there was a time when it was thought nobody would ever want toilets INSIDE their home.
what happens if the pipes get clogged and your stuck with poop in your own home?!?
What happens if it overflows, then you get poop on your floors!!

We need to stick to outhouses. Toilets INSIDE is just crazy Talk.

You realize that in the real world outside of Disney, people are required by law to wear masks when outside their home?

Government: We can go back to our old ways, but for the first six months, we all have to wear masks.
Disney: Our guests have spoken, they won't tolerate masks, so, we'll be shut down for six more months.

I've not seen mention here about the optics of ordering some of your 60K employees to return to work and make your official guidance be something along the lines of: "Make sure none of the guests are able to sneeze or cough on you while being in close quarters to them, and wash your hands frequently, as some of our guests will definitely have COVID-19. Don't worry, the death rate is just a few percent, and only about 20% of your coworkers that catch COVID-19 will require a very expensive ICU stay at the local hospital, likely costing 4 to 5 times what a CM makes in 3 months of salary. And remember to smile, it is all about the show!"
