Opening WDW with Social Distancing

There is no way social distancing is going to work at a theme park. It barely works outside in the city I live in and even then more people than not don't adhere to six feet apart. No way it will work with those who think just because they paid for their vacation they are entitled to do what they will.

I mean if people don't leave for special events or ticket parties you really think they will try to keep you safe?

WDW will attract those who believe social distancing is pointless, or is for others, like moths to a lamp. It will not only be swamped with people, but precisely with the people most likely to infect and be infected.

I don't see myself visiting WDW before there is a definitive vaccine or cure. :'(

What if there is no definitive vaccine or cure? That’s an extremely legitimate possibility that no one is talking about.

Everyone keeps acting like this virus hangs out indefinitely and just waits until it can leap into unsuspecting victims mouth and then await further chaos twirling its mustache laughing all the while delivering a 100% certain death sentence.

The problem is that this virus will be here for years no matter what we do. Recently a single infected person in South Korea is thought to have given it to hundreds of others after going out to multiple public places and gatherings even knowing they had the virus. This virus seems to be even worse than a diabolical mustache-twirling villain because it can hide in asymptomatic carriers who unknowingly spread it to kids, adults, and the elderly. Even if it infects one of these groups they are most likely to interact with the others and thus keep the spread alive.

I don't have a good solution for how we solve the issue but given how fast it can spread and without warning, there doesn't seem to be a golden bullet approach to solving this issue. I guarantee Disney probably has at least 5 - 10 different "options" they are looking at and the next few weeks will probably determine how many of those they implement.

They can’t check Customers temperatures can they? It’s seem like a violation of ones rights plus can You imagine the time it takes to check everyone That goes thru the gates temperatures.

They did it before the last cruise sailings. It's quicker to do than a bag check or ticket entry.

What right?

You can be photographed, video'd, and audio-recorded whenever you are out in public. It's settled Constitutional law that you don't have such privacy rights when you act in public.

And just like you give off visible light radiation such that you can be video'd, you give off infrared radiation when in public that can be detected, just like a finger scanner getting the isometrics of your fingerprint. This isn't an invasive procedure.

Also, normally, you have privacy rights for what's in your pockets and purses and bags when in public. Police can't search through that without cause or a warrant. However, Disney regularly pokes around in your bags and measures magnetic radiation coming off your body (metal detectors and wands). They can do that because you agreed to it when you bought your ticket and stepped on their private property.

As an exercise, go to WDE website and read all their fine print agreements you are 'agreeing to' when you buy a ticket and show up at a park.

Disney has rights, too.

Then they have to give Me a FULL Refund. They won’t do temp checks. Bob Iber ain’t a idiot.

if they open within the next 3 months, it absolutely will be with temperature checks and more. If they don’t open for 6-18 months, they may skip the temperature checks.

Failure to take precautionary measures would leave them open to MASSIVE legal liability. They aren’t idiots.

Likely Disney will just so you go away. I'm sure they do that with people showing up inappropriately dressed.

If you show up to Disney with a t-shirt that drops the F-bomb, you ain't getting in. Disney will happily refund someone like that.

And I'm sure they'd happily send away those who are hiding their temperature. "We dodged a bullet with that one!"

You can’t say it will absolutely be Temp Checks.

You can't say it won't.

But Bob Iger says it may.

Masks: If everyone’s wearing masks, then 6SD goes away and you only need to tell everyone to sanitize their hands before touching their face. (And have sanitizers literally everywhere.) The hard part here is getting small children to keep theirs on.
This is not true. Since the federal government updated guidelines to recommend masks, the experts have been repeatedly emphasizing that this is not true. The wearing of masks is in addition to social distancing, not a replacement for it. People are still advised to maintain the 6 foot distance, even when wearing a mask.
