I seriously didn't expect Ernesto De La Cruz to ever appear at the parks until now. Also Madama Mim gave me the biggest smile on my face.

I believe its the trail that goes behind GRR. She replaced the Evil Queen.

Ernesto's make up is spot on. I about gasped when he opened his mouth, it looks so good.
This sounds about right. Although I don't know to what extent folks were replaced this year because I saw Mad Hatter's throne on the Paradise Park side of Pixar Pier when I went to DCA yesterday, which I wasn't expecting.

After seeing how well-executed Ernesto turned out. I think it's time for Jack Skellington and Sally (especially Jack) to get a major overhaul. I like the concept of both characters interacting, but Jack Skellington always looked off.

List of treat trail characters based on the Cast Preview: Madam Mim, Ernesto de la Cruz, Mother Gothel, Maleficent, Oogie Boogie, Cruella, Sid, Agatha Harkness, Dr. Facilier. Only lost Evil Queen and Mad Hatter, I think; Ernesto took Facilier's place in the overflow between Carthay and WEB Slingers, and Facilier moved to Paradise Park.
Not surprised to see Agatha back, but I am delighted Cruella and Sid are back for a second year: both were very interactive and I ended up loving both a lot.

Expecting either Ernesto De La Cruz, Bruno, or Madam Mim to be this year's character hightlights.
Do we think Zombie Cap will be back this year? I don't know if he was on a treat trail last year or not so whether his lack of appearance at the Cast Preview means that he wouldn't be back this year, or if he wasn't on a treat trail this year so wouldn't necessarily be out at a Cast Member's preview.

He was brought out as a surprise for the last two nights of OBB last year (apparently as a test to introduce more adult-oriented programming to OBB). Can't say for certain if he'll be back as social media reception for Zombie Cap was for the most part very positive, but I'm sure Guest Relations probably also received complaints that evening from surprised families.
I'm personally rooting for Zombie Cap to be brought back + something akin to the Nightmare Experiments from HKDL coming to DCA; DCA is already a park oriented for older guests so I would love to see them take the Villains Grove concept and add actors (not necessarily scare actors) into the mix and a spooky pocket in the park (like the backlot).

I am in love with all the new characters; Ernesto's Remember Me remix is so well done, Madam Mim is a hoot, and Mother Gothel sounds so much like Donna Murphy it's scary. Haven't seen any Bruno videos yet where I could hear the interaction, but the actor looks like he has Bruno's mannerisms down pat.

Still waiting to hear who else will be out at Avengers Campus besides Agatha (who I'm happy to have back again). But there are SOOOOOO many characters out that I want to see that I'm seriously considering skipping the parade (and I don't care about WOC and the Villain's Grove was one and done for me the first year). But I do love the Headless Horseman, so it's a tough call.
But yay for a new mix of characters!!! Though I'm sad to lose Hatter, I was surprised they ever included him in the first place since it was a couple of years after the last movie anyway.
