Trip Report One way or Another..........

It has been quite a few years since I've been to Disney for a full week. I've been there for a day here, two days there but I really missed a full week at Disney. When your first born says lets go to Disney, you make it happen. We just returned, and the best way for me to process getting back to regular life is to do a trip report, so here we go.

Me and Em
October 19-25th

1.jpg

Our flight was leaving at 7:00 am, and it made for a very early morning since we had a two hour drive to the airport. We got on the road at 3:30 and we landed at MCO around 9:30 am. We got an Uber, and Oster was great. He even slowed down so I could get this most coveted picture.

2.jpg

I let Em pick a lot of the details for this trip, one being the mistake of picking our resort. I was willing to pay for a moderate, but she really wanted to stay at POP. sigh~, what can I do..... She loves it

We requested the 60's or 70's building and got a room in the 70's. Our room was ready when we arrived around 10:30 am. Our room was on the first floor and faced an inner courtyard. Mostly quiet, except we could hear the room above us when they were getting ready in the morning or returning at night. They weren't rude or being overly loud. It's what you pay for I guess.

We unpacked and decided we'd rather hop on the skyliner and find lunch rather than go to Typhoon Lagoon. We got off at the Caribbean resort. Their Cuban sandwich wasn't too bad. I'd get it again. We then stopped at Riviera to see the murals in person and eat the "best" cookie at Disney.

6.jpg

7.jpg

8.jpg

I have to say, I didn't think the Riviera Signature cookie was the best cookie on property. I would give it a C.

Em has a fear of birds. This gets mentioned in all of my reports since there are birds everywhere at Disney. Luckily for her, this bird was quite a distance from us, but she made sure to point it out and comment about what it was doing. Then, to our horror, it snatched a little lizard for lunch.

9.jpg

Our early morning was catching up with us so we decided to go back to the room and take a break before heading to Disney Spring for the evening.

Umbrellas, hard glass cases, and more than 1 portable phone charger in the same pocket of a bag are the things I have found get my bag checked and I now carry through the machine. Love your Snow White outfit! And I love that you love AK as much as I do!
Thank you! AK is so beautiful, and teasing Tuvalu about it is now half the fun. I can't wait to read about your upcoming trip. You are so much braver than me to visit that time of year.

Ride photos are included when you purchase LLMP. 😉

And I really am glad you enjoy AK so much!
Shooting Star GIF

That makes so much sense regarding ride photos.. We did try to get some photo pass pictures later on that clearly didn't work.

I do love Animal Kingdom, but I may love teasing you about it more

The next item on our agenda was a snack and a show! In the past I have been not so kind about the popcorn of Disney, but this time it was delicious.
39.jpg

Our first show is by far the best show in my opinion!

40.jpg

We passed many CM's in line while eating our popcorn and I looked for signs about no food or drink in the theater but didn't see any, so we proceeded with the crowd..... Until after we were seated an Usher CM let us know there was NO eating in the theater! This is where our popcorn stayed until the end of the show. We didn't sneak even one bite.

43.jpg

A few reasons this is the best show!

Love the outfits! Super cute. We are going soon and one of our bounding days is Lightning McQueen too (all coordinated by my middle schooler lol)
Thank you! It really was fun doing the bounding. Make sure to yell Ka Chow throughout the day! :hilarious:

Really enjoying your pictures! And your Snow White outfit is so cute!
Thank you very much. It ended up being my second favorite! And to think I was actually going to switch that one.

What to do after a show..... Go to another show!

We headed over to the Finding Nemo show and on our way we saw a hilarious interaction with Kevin and a Wilderness Explorer. She was trying to show him how to ride a bike.

3.jpg

We also ran into these percussionists, and they were fantastic! They did Trashin' the Camp along with a few other songs!

4.jpg

I really love these performers and all the effort that goes into this show. It is defiantly worth it.

It was just before noon, and we had seen two shows and ridden five rides. Now it was time to eat. Another one of Em's requests was to eat at Satuli. I do remember that we had issues with mobile ordering. Come to find out, I think there were issues all over property. We never had any other issues with mobile ordering after that. I had my normal hash bowl but switched from beef to chicken. My chicken was soooo good. Em had the beef with noodles bowl. We both had the Kiwi Margarita, which was delicious.

Before heading out, we had one more ride to do. You can't skip the safari. We headed over around 12:30, and the wait time showed a medium wait. I'm thinking 35-45 minute wait. We probably waited 10-15 minutes. It was a very good safari, being that there were many animals out. Our safari driver was very well scripted and didn't miss anything. It just sounded too scripted. He also said "quickly" around 18 times.

Some weird bird ritual?

There were some musicians here playing but it was these lanterns that caught my eye. They were so colorful and vibrant!

Once we got back to the room we both actually fell asleep, and at 4:00 we got freshened up and waited only a few minutes for a bus to MK. But first....... I must show you our room window. At the last minute, I decided to buy festive window clings. I saw Walmart had Mickey Mouse Halloween ones for only $1.99! When we arrived and were unpacking, and Em put them up. And friends, this is why you don't spend just $1.99 on your window decorations. We left them up all week.

1.jpg

There is nothing like tapping into a park, hearing a ding and the circle turning green. 🥰

2.jpg

You can buy these wreaths in the park for the low price of $75.99. Now, some may say that it is very expensive, but honestly, if you go to Hobby Lobby or Michaels, you're going to pay half of that for just a plain wreath then you have to buy more stuff to add to it, and this one has a pumpkin Mickey, so is it really that expensive?

3.jpg

As we came out of the tunnel the Flag Retreat was starting. I like to consider myself patriotic, and Em asked right away if I wanted to watch. Of course I did!

10.jpg

Sigh~

4.jpg

Our first fast pass I got for the evening was Pirates

7.jpg

8.jpg

I was trying to look like I was getting out of the boat.

44.jpg

We had a bit of time for our next LL was to expire and I had a great idea.

9.jpg

Em was not as excited.

You guessed it, the County Bear Jamboree! I hadn't seen it since the change, and being a Disney song person but not a Country song person I was excited to see the new show. I don't mind country music if it's Disney songs. It really is a cute show.

12.jpg

Our Next fast pass was for Haunted Mansion. The wait time was around 30 minutes but we walked right up to the door.

I wouldn't say we nailed it but we sure do have fun looking ridiculous for ride photos.

Next was our tier one LL, Peter Pan. It was around a 45 minute wait and we waited less than 10.

31.jpg

We immediately got stopped as soon as we turned the corner, which is the only reason I was able to get a clear photo of the kids room.

32.jpg

Next, my favorite character!! 😆

33.jpg

Time for some dinner, Em had heard about the ham and gruyere croissant at Gastons. We barely made it, they close at 7:00, and we got there a few minutes before. We didn't realized they closed early, Em was very happy. We sat on the fountain and enjoyed the atmosphere, they were very good.

34.jpg

35.jpg

I was able to make an LL for Pooh. There was a wait, maybe 25 - 30 minutes, and again we waited 10 minutes or less.

36.jpg
37.jpg

41.jpg

I also was able to get a LL for Little Mermaid. It wasn't needed but we tapped in anyway.

My nightmare was next. We even had an LL for it.

22.jpg

IMG_6988.jpg

Next up was our single LL for Tron. I rode this once and was not impressed but it was Em's first time so of course we had to ride it. I had heard that row 1 made a big difference. And wow, I know its short but such a different experience from before. We loved it.

23.jpg

IMG_6989.jpg

We were able to get another LL for Space Mountain but it was a walk on at 8:45 pm.

65.jpg

We walked through Tomorrowland and around the back of the castle to watch some of the fireworks. Watching from the front would've been amazing but Em isn't a fireworks girls and I'm not waiting over an hour for a decent spot.

54.jpg
66.jpg

78.jpg

We had one more LL to use 🙃

Yes, it was a walk on but we still tapped in for fun

56.jpg

Em had one more request. The pineapple cake dole whip! Well, we ordered, they charged it to the room instead of a snack credit, then they told us they were out of the pineapple cake, and offered us something else. We declined and just asked for the refund on our room charge. The poor CM was so nice and distraught over her mistakes that she offered Em some swirl for free. It was delicious!

55.jpg

99.jpg

Only $75.99!

97.jpg

On the walk out.

98.jpg

The was the roughest part of the day, there were so many people waiting and so many scooters. We thought we were playing it smart leaving before the second showing of Starlight. We waited for probably 25 minutes.
95.jpg

This was a great day. Can't say anything bad about it. I would definitely get LL's for party day. Were they necessary, probably not but I didn't want to take the chance, and a few of the rides had longer waits, and it was nice having the LL's. We got more done on this day than we thought we would.

I honestly said it can't get any better than this. Sometimes thoughts are better left unsaid; once they are out there, who knows what's going to happen.

Tuesday October 21st - Epcot day!

We got up and everything was fine. Today for bounding we were Pooh and Piglet!

This part is depressing you may want to skip over it. 😒 Shortly after getting in line for the Skyliner, I just didn't feel quite right. I'll spare you the details of TMI but I was having some serious issues. We make it to International Gateway and then head to Remy's for rope drop. The movement takes my mind off of how bad my body is feeling. You can tell I'm not feeling my normal self. Isn't that the fakest, I'm having fun smile you've ever seen.

3.jpg

4.jpg

5.jpg

After Remy's we take a break then head to Sunshine Seasons to get me something to eat. One bit and no... We were starting to get into our LL times, we went to a Guest Experience umbrella and asked if they could move our LL to a later time, I wanted to go back to the room to lay down. He was a fantastic CM and got all our LL's moved. He suggested I head over to first aid instead of all the walking and skyliner transfer and blah blah blah. Yep, that's me. Lying in first aid... at Disney.

2.jpg

I really felt bad about Emily but she ended up having a nice solo time while I rested. Here are the pictures she sent me of her adventures.

She said this slushy was delicious,
14.jpg

This fantastic Custodian CM saw Em and told her to give him her phone and he showed her how to pose and took her picture. I love this picture

13.jpg

After this we she came back to first aide and we headed back to the room so I could rest a little more. By 4:00 I was feeling somewhat normal so we headed back to Epcot

See I look normal again

We used our LL for LWTL
