Trip Report One way or Another..........

It has been quite a few years since I've been to Disney for a full week. I've been there for a day here, two days there but I really missed a full week at Disney. When your first born says lets go to Disney, you make it happen. We just returned, and the best way for me to process getting back to regular life is to do a trip report, so here we go.

Me and Em
October 19-25th

Our flight was leaving at 7:00 am, and it made for a very early morning since we had a two hour drive to the airport. We got on the road at 3:30 and we landed at MCO around 9:30 am. We got an Uber, and Oster was great. He even slowed down so I could get this most coveted picture.

I let Em pick a lot of the details for this trip, one being the mistake of picking our resort. I was willing to pay for a moderate, but she really wanted to stay at POP. sigh~, what can I do..... She loves it

We requested the 60's or 70's building and got a room in the 70's. Our room was ready when we arrived around 10:30 am. Our room was on the first floor and faced an inner courtyard. Mostly quiet, except we could hear the room above us when they were getting ready in the morning or returning at night. They weren't rude or being overly loud. It's what you pay for I guess.

We unpacked and decided we'd rather hop on the skyliner and find lunch rather than go to Typhoon Lagoon. We got off at the Caribbean resort. Their Cuban sandwich wasn't too bad. I'd get it again. We then stopped at Riviera to see the murals in person and eat the "best" cookie at Disney.

I have to say, I didn't think the Riviera Signature cookie was the best cookie on property. I would give it a C.

Em has a fear of birds. This gets mentioned in all of my reports since there are birds everywhere at Disney. Luckily for her, this bird was quite a distance from us, but she made sure to point it out and comment about what it was doing. Then, to our horror, it snatched a little lizard for lunch.

Our early morning was catching up with us so we decided to go back to the room and take a break before heading to Disney Spring for the evening.

All refreshed and ready to walk around Disney Springs.

I was stopped many times at the beginning of our trip at security. I after the third time I remembered a video I saw about hard sunglass cases. If it has metal hinges, it'll flag you. After the third time, I took them out of my bag. Never got stopped at security after that.

We had a reservation to make a lego mini fig at the Lego store. Em's husband loves legos, and I wanted to make one of him to put in his stocking for Christmas. It was $11.99, and choices were slimmer than I thought they would be. It was something new for us to do, so I'm still glad we did it. We call him Noodle. The back of his shirt has his name on it.

We stopped by World of Disney to look around, and Emily wanted to go into Gideon's, but being a Sunday night, Disney Springs was pretty busy, so we opted to try again on Wednesday. We were getting hungry, and Emily has fond memories of Rainforest Cafe... I can't make this stuff up. We headed to Lava Lounge and were seated right away. These were our views, so maybe it isn't too bad. We had a friendly Disney duck that hung out with us most of the time. We ordered the mozzarella flatbread with extra arugula and a couple of drinks. I will not say anything bad about the Lava Lounge again. Both drinks and flatbread were very good.

I ordered the Panama Punch, the drink on the left. It was delicious, and I admit I got a little tipsy. We slowly walked back to the buses. We were just soaking in the atmosphere while receiving texts from our husbands saying how cold the Midwest had gotten overnight. The furnace at home has officially been turned on and at that moment I was so thankful to be in the 75 degree weather in Florida.

I meant to mention at the beginning of the report that when we booked our package, Disney had a few different deals going on at the same time. We chose the free quick service dining with park hoppers and the free beverage mug. I know some people say the room only discount is cheaper in the long run, but we ran the numbers, more than once, and for us, this package made sense. Our package started on Monday, the 20th, and we decided to come in a day early, so I booked a room with POP for the previous night. We were able to stay in the same room and no moving was needed. We got each got two quick service meals with an alcoholic beverage if available at the location we chose, and a snack each day.

Disney Bounding!! - I had no idea what this was until Em suggested it. I'm not a "showy" type of person and was hesitant, but Em was excited, and the more we talked about it, the more excited I got. They weren't very elaborate outfits but I still thought we'd stick out. The truth is, we hardly saw very many people bounding, and we didn't end up sticking out at all, but still received many compliments from guests and CM's. I'd definitely do it again. It added to the fun! The one bad thing is, and I'm regretting it so much now is we never got a picture together each day in our Bounding outfits

Now.... Whooo Hooo!

Monday October 20 - our first park day is here!

This was definitely my favorite day of the trip, and can you guess what our first park was @Tuvalu ! Animal Kingdom! Not so much because we wanted it that way, but because for the week we are at Disney, there are two MNSSHP party nights and one private event night. Plus, we had a rest day scheduled for Wednesday. That means that our only night at MK is Monday. We figured since they were open 9 am - 10 pm that MK would be a busy day, so Ak in the morning and MK in the evening it is! I bought Single LL for Flight of Passage Single LL for Tron, and the Multi LL's for MK later that evening. This strategy worked out perfectly for us, it was expensive but it made for a great day.

Emily is Lightning McQueen today - KA CHOW! - I said that a lot to her. Her earing are big lightning bolts!

See, sunglass case is doing me in.

Today I am Snow White! Emily got me my bird earrings and I had to have an apple somewhere!

We didn't order Photo Pass but all our ride photos were linked to our account. It was a nice little bonus.
Proof of Everest

After Everest, we hit up one of Em's favorites, Dinosaur.

Then we just had to head back to Everest

29.jpg

The boy in front of us was so hyped up. Mom was getting tired of riding Everest over and over. I acted like I had no clue what was happening, which made him even more fun to ride with. I believe mom said NO MORE! after we got off.

53.jpg

It was now time for our Flight of Passage. So back to Pandora we went.
30.jpg

Emily, of course had to point out the demon birds from her last trip.

31.jpg

Isn't Animal Kingdom the best @Tuvalu, beauty is everywhere:hilarious:

35.jpg

Em's husband loves.... loves otters, so we had to stop by the Otter Grotto and watch the otters play. there were about five of them running around. Here they just look like rocks, but I have a video of them playing that we sent to him.

34.jpg

Ahh here we are. I forgot how much I love this ride.

I always have to whoo hoo and clap after certain rides, and FOP is definitely one of them.
