The Incredibles Epic Escape Room

Incredibles-2-Sneak-Peek-Olympics.jpg

With The Incredibles II being such a hit, Disney has decided to make an escape room themed around the movie, to be located in the extra space of the NBA experience.

With three escape rooms (The Screen Slaver's "Hypnotism Hurdle", The Underminer's "Earth Escape", and Buddy's "Syndrome Section"), each with a time limit of one hour, guests will be able to experience a different experience whichever room they choose.

The escape rooms all feature hands-on interactions with objects, projections, and animatronics; you'll also get a free ticket to any restaurant in the Springs with your escape room purchase.

Bonus:
The Despicable Diner, a restaurant themed around Despicable Me, where guests can dine in Gru's lab, and experience a show featuring the famous Minions.

For this competition, I'm sticking with these two movies. I have no idea how I'm going to do it, but I will.

PRACTICE PROMPT
DISNEY SPRINGS

View attachment 291362
As we get ready for the beginning of an epic Clash of Titans between Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort, we will be making a stop at Disney Springs, to relax and grab a drink at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, as we discuss some Blue Sky Concepts in the form of a practice prompt. And maybe, we can even visit Star Wars: Secret of the Empire!

-Background Information-

As we can see from the concept of Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar and Star Wars: Secret of the Empire, Disney has been working on adding more themed and more Disney experiences to Disney Springs, which was originally known as Downtown Disney. Disney Springs is recreation center with many dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings, such as The World of Disney.

-Challenge-
For this challenge, you have to design a Disney themed Escape Room, it can be located anywhere within Disney Springs, but you must specify where. The theme you choose for the Escape Room is free, as long as Disney is able to use it within the Walt Disney World Resort.

-Bonus-
Additionally, Universal wants you to design a highly themed dining experience to be added at Universal CityWalk™, it must immersive, so it can compete with Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, and if you want to dream big, with the upcoming Space Restaurant!

-Rules-
You may use between 1 and 3 sentences and up to 1 image. For the bonus you may use 1 sentence. The deadline is Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:59 PM EST. Critiques will come shortly after, with Challenge 1 being posted at Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST.

-Tips-

K.I.S.S. – Keep it simple, silly. Try not to complicate or overthink things too much. It’s a simple, casual competition – there are no eliminations. Propose as you please!

-Judging Criteria-

Is it creative?
Does it accomplishes everything within the challenge guidelines?
Is it realistic?

-Reminders-

This is a Practice Prompt, so while there's a medal ceremony, it doesn't award any point, and the Bonus point is awarded just for doing it in regular challenges, but in this round it doesn't add points either. And remember to have above all!

Dr. Strange: Sanctum Escape

doctor-strange-thor-ragnarok-1077196-1280x0.jpeg

A mysterious warehouse seemingly abandoned at the edge of the Landings section of Disney Springs houses a secret many would consider... Strange.

Inside guests are magically transported to the Sanctum Sanctorum, the magical home of Dr. Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, who is tasked with protecting the world from mystical threats, and he needs our help.

In this all new escape room game, guests will have to solve the riddles and puzzles hidden within a locked room of the Sanctum to lift the curses placed there by Kaecelious to save the day and their lives!

Bonus

The very very lame Fast & Furious Supercharged will be shut down in December of 2018 less than one year after opening to be replaced with something of more value (an out of order restroom perhaps?), and the props and sets from the ride will be moved to City Walk to creat the Fast & Furious Family Barbecue that will give guests the experience of enjoying a warm meal and a cold Corona with those closest to you between races just like Dom and his crew do often in the films.

Star Wars is the most famous film franchise of all time with its fans being some of the most passionate, so a place to be immersed in the world of Star Wars is a no-brained.

In this attraction, guests play the role of Resistance Agents who have just stolen First Order movement plans and are currently being detained on one of their vessels.

To be continued.

The Muppets: Studio "Tour"
IMG_4008.jpg

Replacing Bongo's in the West side is an all new Escape Room experience themed to an exclusive (and dangerous) tour of the Muppet Studios. Navigate 5 rooms, each with it's own timed threat, such as Crazy Harry's "Bomb Room", Swedish Chef's disastrous kitchen, a prop room (with a grand piano hanging by a thread), the Muppet Labs, and The Electric Mayhem's loudest concert yet. You are of course laughed at by Statler and Waldorf throughout the entire thing.

Bonus: CityWalk™ will receive the Cafe 80s from Back to the Future Part 2, this diner will have 80s themed decor, serve Pepsi Perfect, and have a Wild Gunman arcade machine.

This is the first review I have ever written, and you made it really easy to write, as I think that a Muppet Themed Escape Room, in my opinions they are underused in the parks, and hopefully that will change one day. Overall, I think your proposal really works with the prompt, as it adds a character driven Escape Room that would be fun for all the family, that also helps transition Disney Springs into a more Disney Experience. I also highly appreciate how the 5 rooms exploit the assets of the Muppets to create an enjoyable experience that I'm sure many people (@AceAstro) will be willing to pay for it! My only concern would be the location, as in a way I feel like it might stand out a little bit, and might not be enough to create a fully immersive Muppet Studio ambiance.

Bonus: A dining experience themed to Back to the Future is genius, I'm sure that the Pepsi will sell out, I believe they did something like that a year or two ago, and the demand for them was high!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Escape from the Flying Dutchman
latest

Replacing the Rainforest Cafe (which is being replaced in Disneyland's Downtown Disney and already has another venue in WDW at the entrance to Animal Kingdom) will be the escape room attraction Pirates of the Caribbean: Escape from the Flying Dutchman, bringing Pirates back to Disney Springs after the popular Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold attraction was removed with Disney Quest in 2016.

Escape from the Flying Dutchman will pit you face to face with Davy Jones, one of the most popular characters from the film franchise (and hinted to be coming back for future films) in an epic quest led by the humourous yet witty Captain Jack Sparrow as he and his crew guide you through the Dutchman's Quarters through clues and other interactive elements using your MagicBands that allow you to tap through doorways and signal for help from the crew.

Yet the nefarious Jones is right behind you, and his crew is built into the walls of the crusty and decrepit ghost ship, with motion based animatronics on the upper walls and ceilings, this escape room may frieghten small children, and is recommended for children ages 10 and up, offering a pre-teen experience to hold the kids over perhaps while the adults shop in the Marketplace right outside the escape room.

Bonus
The Breakfast Club, based on the 1985 John Hughes film of the same name, will be a themed dining experience specializing in breakfast/brunch themed to the library where the students had detention in the film - don't you forget about this!;)

First of all this sounds like a lot of fun! I'm a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, and I feel like this would definitely become a Classic and a fan favorite experience, plus it would bring in a lot of merchandise opportunities, and we all know how much Disney loves that this days. Additionally, it would kill two birds from one shot, it will make a good use of the area where Rainforest currently sits, and reincorporate the Pirates into Disney Springs, which I'm sure created a void in many fans. Using Davy Jones as the looming threat works perfectly, as he's definitely one of the most intimidating Disney Villains. I also really liked the use of Magic Bands to enhance the experience, my only concern, is that a family friendly experience might have been more appealing to the general public, but I'm sure teens and adults (visiting without children) will be queueing for it!

Bonus: The Breakfast Club is a smart choice as it's a highly beloved IP, not sure how comfortable people would be with eating in a library (I'm sure it's the wild dream of a lot of people :p ) but I like the concept, great idea!

CURSE OF THE ADVENTURERS CLUB
1511204786553

Buried deep in the foundations under Disney Springs lie the forgotten remains of Pleasure Island, and of her flagship Adventurers Club. Why did the beloved exotic club vanish so completely? A curse bedevils the many different rooms - the Mask Room, the Treasure Room, the Zebra Mezzanine, and more - and our brave society of explorers (and adventurers) only has so much time to decipher each room's secret and learn why the Club vanished before they too become victims of the curse!

BONUS: The Continental, a 5-star hotel and restaurant catering to international assassins (as seen in John Wick) is now appearing in Universal's CityWalk, and you don't even need a special coin to enter.

D, you never cease to amaze me with your great ideas! I really like the fact that there's an overarching plot that connects all the rooms into a huge mystery! I'm totally sure that it would be a total hit, and people from all ages would be able to enjoy it. In a way it reminds me of the Haunted Mansion, in the sense that there's suspense, and a dark narrative (the insinuation that guests might fall victims of a curse). The only thing that wasn't entirely clear to me was the location, but if it's going to be under the current Disney Springs, it definitely sounds interesting. Great Proposal!

Bonus: I'm don't have a lot of knowledge regarding John Wick (I haven't seen the movie don't kill me), but it definitely sounds like a great themed experience! Bravo Brava! (Opps wrong competition ;) don't kill me space)

HAUNTED MANSION: DEATH CLOCK ARISES

Welcome foolish mortals to the Haunted Mansion vacation club, which is run by ghosts who take you through their mansion on a guided tour. But they leave you with this chilling question... to find a way out!!!! This themed escape rooms had three acts in which you explore the Haunted mansion (stretching room, the ballroom and the attic) to find a way out the attic window to fall to your doom.

(Sorry there would be more but I’m in London right now on vacation)

Don't worry Dl, whatever you can submit is fine! The Haunted Mansion sounds like an ideal option for an Escape Room, fun, threatening, and enjoyable! Will we find a way out? I would love to at least try.

Bonus: A Vacation in London would have been a funny immersive dining option, based in James Bond I guess? :p:p:p

The castle's curse
4880c704e4edbd84a51eeddc4b8882f1.jpg

Replacing Rainforest Cafe. Guests will enter a seemingly abandoned castle when thunder strikes and traps them into the castle. There they must join a cursed cast member to solve clues to reach and defeat the evil Horned King before they have the same fate as the cast member and get trapped in this castle - forever!
Bonus:
Dr. Seuss Cafe will transport guests to the wacky world of Dr. Seuss. Now guests can find out what exactly moose juice is.
This is probably the most original proposal, as it is something I would have never thought of! I really like the idea of facing the Horned King, and it being themed to a castle style Escape Room, I'm sure people would love it. My only concern is how it would fit with the rest of the area. Nevertheless, it is a great proposal, and hopefully we find a way out, and not suffer the same fate of that poor Cast Member!

Bonus: Dr. Seuss would be a fun dining experience, it would be an extremely wacky and fun experience, families would love it!

Doctor Strange and the Mirror Dimension
In order to stop a mystic threat, Doctor Strange has trapped it in a pocket dimension of mirrors, and unfortunately, you got swept up in his trap! As you navigate a hall of mirrors - a feat unto itself -- Doctor Strange projects himself through the mirrors to help you along the way, while the mystic threat torments you! Throughout the maze there are illusions, secret portals to unlock, and trippy interdimensional images projected all around.

Placement: Entertainment district -- on the empty lot NE of Cirque / NW of House of Blues restaurant.

Bonus Restaurant: Eureka!
Based on the Syfy-Universal show of the same name, the seemingly rural restaurant serves up hi-tech food created with molecular gastronomy including leveraging liquid nitrogen and printing 3D desserts along with a theme of mad science where experiments (and a lot of hidden magnets) occasionally surprise and delight the guests.

Glad to see you join the competition! It's a great proposal, and I really enjoyed reading through it! My only issue, was that you used 4 sentences, so for future challenges, make sure that the main proposal (not including the Bonus) is at most three sentences, unless it is indicated in the rules that you might use more! Nevertheless, I believe that a Doctor Strange Escape Room/Maze that traps you in the mirror dimension is super fun, everyone would love it, as it would be unique, and most of all, Disney would definitely greenlit this, as they want to have more Marvel presence in WDW and this would not affect anyone (like GOTG) as it will be using a brand new space! It was truly amazing, and can't wait to see what you come up with in future prompts! Great Job!

Bonus: That themed dining experience would be perfectly unique, and beloved by guests of Universal, and it would definitely compete with the Space Restaurant! That's an amazing idea! :D

Kingdom Hearts: Trials of the Keyblade
latest

Replacing the T-REX restaurant, guests will find the twisted towers of Hollow Bastion, the entrance way to a five-room escape game based on Kingdom Hearts, within Heartless threaten to devour all worlds in darkness, and Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy need fellow Keyblade wielders to help them defend the realms. Brave guests wield their own Keyblades, which can interact and work with MagicBands (or like the wands in Diagon Alley), in order to access the solve various puzzles, traps, and riddles that unlock the "Keyhole" to the next world. The rooms are based on worlds from the game series - Destiny Islands, Twilight Town, a couple of rooms based on Disney franchises (Hercules/Pirates), and Hollow Bastion.

BONUS - The Legend of Jaws ("Drop in for a bite!), a sea food restaurant set within a restaurant dedicated to Amity Island and its renowned history with the notorious great white shark, and may even feature an appearance by the legendary beast himself.

I love T-REX, but I won't let that cloud my judgment, as your proposal is truly brilliant, it incorporates a popular video game, Disney IPs, and Magic Bands. This sounds like something Disney would love to incorporate, and it gives them the perfect opportunity to sell Kingdom Hearts merchandise!!! I also really enjoyed how you used the mechanics of the game to create a truly unique and immersive experience, that would easily become a fan favorite, and generate revenues for Disney! It's challenging and fun, a perfect match!

Bonus: A Jaws themed restaurant is something I didn't thought of, I'm sure it would be terrifying and fun whenever the Shark appears, and who doesn't love an immersive sea food restaurant!

The Despicable Diner, a restaurant themed around Despicable Me, where guests can dine in Gru's lab, and experience a show featuring the famous Minions.

I love The Incredibles, and I think that this would be a lot of fun, a very intelligent way to incorporate an IP that Disney will most likely be trying to shoehorn into the parks any day now (hopefully it will be in a good way). I really like how each room includes many technology and animatronics, while also being themed to an specific villain. I also highly appreciate that you included a reward for completing an Escape Room, I'm sure this would be an experience that would have long queues, and it also perfectly fits. Can't wait to see what else you can come up with, let's see how many loopholes you can find.

Bonus: Despicable Me restaurant is an idea that I'm surprised hasn't happened yet, the yellow monsters, I mean Minions, are insanely popular!

A Doctor Strange Escape Room is brilliant, it's a good IP, that lends itself to a lot of mystic and mysterious experiences, that could easily be renovated once in a while, and after IW he is everyone's favorite hero, so it will surely generate revenue, opening it by time Doctor Strange 2 opens would be a no brainer! And visiting the Sanctum Sanctorum would be truly magic, very Disney (or at least very New Disney), having a villain drive the story is a brilliant idea! Great worl 3.1416!

Bonus: That burn makes it my favorite bonus, although, I'm not the biggest fan of Fast & Furious, nevertheless who doesn't love a good barbecue!
