The Wasteland
b7c8f33ed26bb2b5f3bb5babd7a9c2e1.png

Welcome to the Wasteland: a world torn to near destruction by nuclear warfare, and what is left of mankind is barely a shell of mankind's former glory with a sole focus on surviving rather than thriving.

This version of the Wasteland takes us into Chicago's Drake Hotel, which is currently a luxurious hotel at the end of the Magnificent Mile, but has been reinterpreted to be where some of the sane members of mankind are living in hiding.

The land is almost all indoors, and features a quick service restaurant called The Mess Hall which is hosted in the Drake's tea room (which in real life, is adjacent to the lobby) and a shop called The Stuff Shop.

To access the land's singular E-Ticket, descend the ramp into the garage beneath the hotel, where a jeep powered by literal garbage (very eco-friendly) waits to bring you to explore the nuclear wasteland that is Chicago.

In the thrilling EMV E-Ticket called Armageddon Chicago, we explore some of Chicago's most recognizable locations to try and find a new home for the citizens of Drake City, as they are running low on resources; however, most of the locations are very dangerous as Wrigley Field is being used as a gladiator tournament for savages, the shops on the Mag Mile are in chaos, and Navy Pier is overrun by a military-like faction.

Bonus One: Exorian (Exo) Darkh is the current mayor of "Drake City," and is wearing the nicest clothes (which are still tattered) of all of the survivors, which shows his elevated class which you can see when he gives you your mission in the E-Ticket.

Bonus Two: Stark Industries Workshop is a new boutique hotel where guests play the roles of CIA agents (led by Black Panther's own Moss) investigating Tony Stark for violating the Sokovia Accords.

Bonus Three: Disney's Hidden Frontier will feature immersive single-IP or no-IP lands, that are all connected via a crashed spaceship in the center.
Updated and Completed! :D

I'm actually done my project, I just wanted an excuse to post this image since I am using a different one for my actual project. I just love this picture so much.

The Muppets Lost Jungle

kB0Gj_siHD1s-rhLkPXYLwpyV3QZK8-5wdoAgtrxS0LSMkUUtfSchrFlZX1NXRKOKRTZPg5Vwl8sutFkkC2RMJ8ORfNtn0U30Wgr8hxVsnMVa-_znPoP6CWfFipRBw1xqkoEjWEW

The entrance to the land will be found next to the train on the Adventureland side of the tracks to keep up the high Jungled area.

The Muppets Lost Jungle will be a brand new land themed around the Muppets finding a hidden temple while having a similar idea to the old proposed Muppets Studio for DHS where the Muppets try to do Disney things but mess it up in the classic Muppets way.

The first attraction that we will see the classic Muppets mistake is Raiders of the Lost Muppet (Similar to the episodes of Muppet Babies that has the same name) where a Kermit stylized Indiana Jones leads guests on an EMV adventure through the temple to look for Animal who went missing.

The second attraction in the land will be a C-ticket level show, Survive with Sam, where we see Sam the Eagle teach guests the “American” way to survive in the Jungle but is constantly interrupted by Rizzo and Pepe.

The Misty Wind Jungle Cafe will be a Quick Service located in the land selling some of the best meats money can buy while guests can also sit in the restaurant and enjoy music from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem similar to Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe now.

-Bonus-

The new Muppet character will be Hēng sēn (Henson) the Monkey with the story of being found in the Jungle by the Muppets; Hēng sēn will be exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland.

-Double Bonus-

This new hotel will be themed after the Wild Wild West due to having Grizzly Gulch in view.

-Super Ultra Mega Double Bonus-

With the new land, as well as Frozen and Marvel coming, Toy Story Land is closed to make Hong Kong Disneyland’s second park a full fledge Pixar Park where theming can be done properly.

(I, II, III)
Over the last decade and into the next, Hong Kong Disneyland has seen a variety of expansions to try to increase both the options and the attendance to the quaint theme park, however recent trends in the dwindling mainland Chinese attendance (originally half of the annual guests), is a sign that the park not only needs to stand out from the highly attended Shanghai Disneyland, but also needs expansions to coax more mainland guests to visit the Resort as a whole, through popular Chinese Box Office IP lands of Frozen and Marvel, as well as the mixed IP/original land of Latin Coast.

Flanked off of Adventureland and Grizzly Gulch, Latin Coast is inspired by the scenic villages of Latin America including Santa Cecelia and San Sebastian Bernal, as well as the Caribbean Islands (used as a transition from Adventureland), featuring two signature attractions, that being a hybrid of Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain (two missing classic attractions in Hong Kong Disneyland), the 120 ft tall Montaña Antigua, "Ancient Mountain" (1), an E-Ticket flume ride through an audio-animatronic array of Aztec mythology, as you flow through cursed waters culminating in a soaring splashdown led by the anthropomorphic Carlita the Coati, as well as a Coco C-Ticket dark ride The World Es Mi Familia (2) following Miguel's adventures on the Day of the Dead celebration to unite his family.

Moreover, the popular mainland Chinese Box-Office IP of Pirates of the Caribbean, finally gets a permanent location in Hong Kong Disneyland, but rather than try to compete with the Battle for the Sunken Treasure attraction in Shanghai, or clone a previous Pirates attraction, Latin Coast will offer The Brethren Court (3), a 25 minute stage production inside the Fuerte Port Royal featuring a meeting of the Pirate Lords including Sao Feng (in the film, played by Hong Kong actor, Chow Yun-fat). as well as the completely visceral Jack Sparrow: Hunt for the Captain's Gold (4), a walking-trail pirate scavenger hunt through the Fuerte.

Latin Coast also features several restaurants and shops in the central hub of the land called Plaza de La Armonía, including El Restaurante del Mito y La Leyenda (A) "Myth and Legends Restaurant" surrounded by ancient Aztec structures and monuments inspired by those found in Santa Cecelia, while across the path lies the counter-service restaurant Amigos (B) that serves authentic Latin American dishes of spices, chicken, rice, fish, and more, as well as Treasure Cove (C), which is a small quick service bar/dessert station near the entrance to the Fuerte Port Royal, serving unique pirate pastry items and drinks, with the shops of Plaza de Mercado (D), Arte Azteca (E), and Remember Me (F) selling custom Latin Coast merchandise, Ancient Mountain merchandise, and Coco merchandise respectfully.

Overall, Latin Coast combines some of the most lucrative mainland Chinese Box-Office franchises of Coco ($189,226,296) and Pirates of the Caribbean (Pirates 5: $172,277,290) to entice new mainland guests, with the goal of increasing attendance, as well as providing an original land and E-ticket attraction that is both unique like Mystic Manor, and that combines classic attraction styles of Pirates/Splash similar to how Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars combines Everest/Big Thunder styles, in order to entice more international guests to make the journey to Hong Kong Disneyland.

(IV) Bonus #1:
Carlita the Coati, is a unique animal native to Mexico and her mischievous ambition as you journey up her village's mountain causes the ride to take a turn into cursed waters and the thrills that await

(V) Bonus #2:
Disney/Pixar Animation Resort will be a 'value/economic' resort option for Hong Kong Disneyland guests, offering themed buildings to classic Pixar films of Cars, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and more.

(VI) Bonus #3:
Disney's Discovery Expo Theme Park will be a spin on 'WestCOT' and 'EPCOT Center' celebrating advancements in technology in economics, commerce, and industry, located in one of the financial hubs of the world (Hong Kong).

World of Cartoons (漫画世界/Mànhuà shìjiè)
Mickeys-Country-House_Full_10217.jpg

"Welcome, one and all, to the World of Cartoons! Here, guests of Hong Kong Disneyland can live some of their favorite Disney cartoons, such as Plane Crazy, Steamboat Willy, and the Skeleton Dance. Here today is a great overview of our land, one that will prosper, that will grow, that will make guests imagine... and believe anything is real, and anybody can be met. Thank you, and welcome!"
- Bob Iger, accompanied by DisneyForever

The World of Cartoons is the next land to join Hong Kong Disneyland, and to make it become better; in the land are 4 rides, an E-Ticket, 2 C-Tickets, and 1 A-Ticket; the land also has multiple shops, and one special restaurant, more on that later though.

Our first ride is our E-Ticket, Mickey's Great Cartoon Escape!; in this attraction, guests will be seated in their Toot Toot Trolley, and will tool around famous original Mickey cartoons such as The Band Concert, Mickey's Trailer, Clock Cleaners, Plane Crazy, and the finale that is Steamboat Willie; in this attraction, Mickey is shown as what he looked like in the 20s-early 1940s, to make it more realistic; the attraction immerses you more thanks to the so-called "2 1/2-D", and audio-animatronics.

Our next ride, or should I say two rides, are the C-Tickets, Silly Symphonies Presents: The Skeleton Dance, and Silly Symphonies Presents: Egyptian Melodies, which will both be dark rides adjacent to one another; in each, there will be animatronics, an "alive" walls to present to you a great thematic symphony that will sure tug the hearts of some, because of its value.

Our last ride is the A-Ticket Toon Trolley, that will transport guests from the front to the back and vice versa; the trolleys will look very toon-like, with colors on them, and wonky shapes; don't worry, these trolleys are safe to ride on; also, periodically, some famous visitors might step on board for a stroll.

There will be multiple shops strewn about the World of Cartoons, including ones that depict today's Mickey cartoons and Disney Animation movies; that restaurant we lightly touched on above will be called Steamboat Willie's Steamboat Cafe, where guests can actually eat inside of a large steamboat sitting upon a man-made mini-river; the food will be cheap yet delicious, and at night, there will be special foods that make the restaurant up-scale; welp, that's all for now folks, thank you for letting me tour you around the World of Cartoons.

Bonus:
Our furry yet friendly mascot of the land is Ricartoo (seriously, is anybody getting it?) the Hamster; sometimes throughout the day, he'll be out greeting guests with his warm smile that almost everybody will love.

Double Bonus:
The next hotel for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will focus on Chinese culture, and be named The Ancient Zodiac Resort And Spa (古代十二生肖度假村和溫泉/Gǔdài shí'èr shēngxiào dùjiàcūn hé wēnquán)

Super Ultra Mega Double Bonus:
Hong Kong Disneyland's second gate will be called Disney's EarthBorn, which will focus on different countries, 12 to be exact (America, China, Japan, the UK, France, Spain, Russia, Canada, India, Norway, Germany, and Brazil); the park's main land, or entrance land, will be called Gateway to the World; lastly, this park will boast an amazing number of attractions, shops and restaurants.

Thank you to @D Hindley for hosting this great competition.

The Realm of Imagination

1519874568528.png

The Realm of Imagination will be a new land coming to Hong Kong Disneyland; Loosley based on the Figment comics/mythology, this land will take guests into the wonderful and crazy world of imagination.

Visually, this land will feel like a mix of Pandora (The Animal Kingdom version), Oz (the Sam Raimi version), and Wonderland (any version really) as impossible sights are brought to life in grand fashion such as a mountain made of rainbow colored crystals (with walk through caverns), a lake shaped like an eye, trees that talk, jumping fountain, paths that make music when you step in the right spots, and more!

From the Grizzly Peak side, guest will enter through the Cavern of Illusion (a short cave full of optical illusions and unusual sights) and from the Adventureland side guests will weave through some trees to find the Imagination Institute (A more fantasy version of the one found in Epcot that houses a few attractions as well as the entrance to the land)

Attractions include Figment's Fantastic Flight into Imagination (A large scale suspended E-Ticket Dark Ride with Figment and the Dreamfinder as imagined in Round 5 of this very competition that is sadly coming to a close), the What If? Labs (An interactive play area focused on doing amazing things real science like a small children's science museum), Prof. Kongbuh's Tower of Terror (A new version of Tower of Terror where a rival of the Dreamfinder (Prof. Kongbuh whose name is a play on the phonetic spelling of the Chinese word for terror) traps guests in his crazy steampunk lab to try to extract our fear to create an army of nightmares), Mind's Eye Lake Explorer Canoes (guided tours around the lake while your guide tells stories and jokes), and the Wandering Mind's Walking Trail (A walk through gardens full of topiaries and various simple effects/animatronics, this attraction will eventually be demolished for a third large attraction).

Guests can purchase general merchandise themed to Figment and the land at the Collection of the Unknown gift shop, buy villain themed or Tower of Terror merchandise at the Nightmare Boutique at the exit to the tower, eat creative and visually interesting meals (such as rainbow colored mac & cheese) at the Imagine Eats QSR, and dine upscale yet still inventive and delicious meals in the upstairs of the Imagination Institute in the Glass Pyramid TSR.

-Bonus-

Prof. Kongbuh has an imaginary friend (like how the Dreamfinder has Figment) who is an adorable, evil, mischievous furry, red-orange dragon named Lu (Short for deLUsion, a synonym for figment with negative connotations).

-Double Bonus-

The Grand Wakandan Hotel will allow guests to enjoy a night in a hotel built and run by the Wakandan government to give guests a taste of what life is like in Black Panther's homeland.

-Super Ultra Mega Double Bonus-

1519877813620.png

Disney's Grand Adventures Park will be a new park dedicated to daring, exotic lands and exciting, action packed journeys focused on interactive games and scavenger hunts that encourage guest to explore the park themselves and create their own grand adventures (and plenty of thrill ride for older guests who prefer to focus on the action).

Game Central Station

OSP #12 .jpg

With Wreck-it Ralph 2 coming out this fall, Hong Kong Disney is excited to present you with Game Central Station, a brand new immersive world into the life of video games.

Main attractions will include: Sugar Rush, an E-ticket indoor racing ride will be set in the style of Test track meets Radiator Springs Racers where guest will make there own candy car exactly like in the movie, and then race to the finish line against other guests, after a test lap in Vanillope's cave of course and Fix-It Felix, simulator drop tower where the screens inside each floor will show us the story of Ralph wrecking the hotel to send us falling and Felix raising us up by fixing each level.

In an update of the land, there will be ElecTRONica, a nighttime dance party that allows guest to step into the GRID and show off their moves, returning from its run at California Adventure, and Keyblade Adventures: A trip Through Worlds, a Star Tours style Kingdom Hearts ride (as seen in Round 10 of this competition) both which are set to open with the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 (whenever that is...)

There will also be the CyBug Cyber Cafe, that will house old school arcade games as well as demos for any and all Disney video games coming out soon and Sweet Treats Bakery that will sell all the candy and pastries your heart desires (and your parents dread) including a mini replica of the cake made for Wreck It Ralph's 30th gameaversery.

Bonus: A brand new interactive animatronic named Xyba (A B X and Y being the normal buttons on a game control) will roll around and try and get kids to play with him.

Double Bonus: The Nicelanders Hotel will let you stay in the very hotel Ralph destroys every day.

Triple Bonus: The new park will showcase Disney Through the Ages as you move from land to land, time period to time period.

FINAL REVIEWS

We come at last to the year’s end (happy March!). I’ll say upfront that I’ve loved reading every proposal in every challenge. The variety and creativity never fails to impress. You’ve outdone yourselves in this finale, so onwards!
Citric Circus
6.jpg

This new land will be themed to a magical traveling bug circus, unrelated to the one in a bugs life. The rides will include the hoops of fire, which is a rollercoaster where guests ride a dragonfly that does tricks, including barreling through hoops that are on "fire" and escaping dangers in the house, such as "spray" and "the cat". There will also be a dark ride (more about that in the bonus) and a new magic show starring mickey mouse. The shops include the magic shop, which will have magic props and interactive magic displays and carnistuff which includes gag gifts, carnival related toys and more. The dining includes popcorn stands, corndog stands, and the carni cafe, which will have the waiters on stilts or on unicycles.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus 1: The new dark ride will be called circus shootout. It will have guests enter one of the magic tents where they meet buzzo the bee. Buzzo takes guests through a small hole in a kitchen where guests see different bug circus acts, with interactive areas to shoot at to cause crazy things to happen, such as items falling over, setting off sprays, etc.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus 2: The new hotel will be the mystic hotel, which will be themed to a hotel that just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Strange interactive elements will be in the hotel that will set off with guests not having to be near a button.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus 3: The second park's theme will be Westcot. Exactly the same as the planned westcot. The end.
A magical bug circus, with or without A Bug’s Life, sounds fairly similar to the miniaturizing concept of nearby Toy Story Land. This is of course better, with lots more content and theming. Every ride, restaurant, etc. fits your chosen theme. Maybe placing waiters on stilts is too tall an order WINK; what if they spill or fall? Circus Shootout (a nice variation on the Toy Story Mania concept) is a good standout, though I’m a little confused about Mickey Mouse appearing when the land otherwise seems wholly original.

Bonus: A shooting ride with a character called “Buzzo?” SMILE

Double Bonus: Mystic Manor is the best thing at HKDL, so Mystic Hotel is great.

Ultra Bonus: +2

(No commentary from me on these second park ideas. We’ll see why after the winner is announced ;).)

GRAND FINALE CHALLENGE
DECEMBER
Discovery Wharf
View attachment 267418
Adding a little bit of seafood, a lot of California and a distinctly Hong Kong touch to Disneyland is Discovery Wharf!

The Discovery unfolds just as you pass under an arch from Grizzly Gulch with a sight of the mesmerizing but wavey waters crashing against the wood of where the action is happening; the town of Cape Carp focuses on the discovery of new marine animals, and with a story akin to DLP's Frontierland, its backstory propels it to the past the water's edge!

Boasting two attractions: The Waters Edge (E-ticket) and a carousel, it's a perfect blend of every interest; not to mention a mega Ghirardelli shop, and since Ghirardelli sponsors the land, you'll find epic desserts at the fine dining restaurant The Fog House and at the delightful outdoor sardine & squid serving Triton's.

Yet with all these wonders, there's a reason it has Discovery in its name: the area has been known for shipwrecks with people wanting to explore the foggy waters, but when the town goes to sleep, the town is reminded of those lost at sea!

And with Shanghai's POTC technology put to work at The Waters Edge, this is truly a once in a lifetime voyage; just remember, don't trust the seagulls;).

First
Monsieur Édouard
The one and only owns an exploration and tour company with his equally arrogant wife, Lea, that takes you through the vast ocean, but be warned, his tours only depart at night, and in Cape Carp, things go awry at night!
Second

The Bayou Inn
The one, the only, Louisiana's, Bayou Inn is nestled on Discovery Bay; besides the elaborate theming, the most prominent features are the swimming pool that makes it seem like a lagoon filled with actual gators is part of the pool, and Tiana's, which rests in Discovery Bay and easily rivals Be Our Guest with a touch only Disney can do, and its epic jazz-filled comedy show while you eat the delicacies of the South!
Third

Hong Kong DisneyEarth

Behold, half a dozen ecosystems from "The Tundra" (artic) to "The Deep" (ocean) transport you to what makes our planet beautiful, and you, the test subjects, for education and experimentation will be in different environments with state-of-the-art technology; taking place from the year 2,100 and beyond, this epic 'facility' was built to celebrate the world being 100% green and is made with peace by all the countries in the world for the world.
I actually really want to expand on this concept at some point:joyfull:
Discovery Wharf ties into Grizzly Gulch just like Disneyland’s Discover Bay would have with Frontierland. (It also sounds like a Pacific version of DisneySea’s Cape Cod.) That’s a charming notion, a land that’s original yet traditional like Grizzly Gulch or Mystic Point. It’s a shame this land is landlocked, with the hotels between it and Hong Kong’s Discovery Bay, because it would be wonderful connecting this to the ocean. I’m intrigued by the shipwrecks and mystery of The Waters Edge, even if duplicating Shanghai’s POTC tech in nearby Hong Kong might seem repetitive. Just be you’re your haunted seas don’t involve ghosts, which are taboo in China. Triton’s sounds good, though Adventureland already serves squid (it’s Hong Kong’s turkey leg!).

Bonus: Edouard sounds like a S.E.A. character!

Double Bonus: With the nearby waterways and the humid jungle setting, this Louisiana hotel would be fitting yet exotic.

Mega Bonus: +2
