Coming to the new Secret Springs resort (a Mediterranean resort with heavy fantasy elements) is Hugo's - a steakhouse serving meat Brazilian style. The restaurant is named after Hugo Martinez, the explorer who "discovered" the secret spring. The restaurant is partially inside of the beautiful jungle-like spring, and the other half is inside a S.E.A. bunker

I hope it's alright if I hop in here.

Also, alternate restaurant title, A Salute to All Disney's, but mostly California.

I'll give credit where credit is due to @CraniumCommand89 for the original idea -- he was supposed to host this season but long story short he didn't have time so the baton was passed haha

That being said - it is a neat compliment to the Great Movie Comp! :D

Rock 'N Roller Eats

In this new twist on Disney Dining and high speed thrills, Disney is literally combining a 5-star dining experience with a looping roller coaster. Once you check-in for your reservation, you are seated in the next available coaster car and then coaster train pulls up to the launch station, at which point our amazing servers come out and hand you your mandatory $70 surf and turf along with beverage, and as you are about to take your first bite the rock music blares and the coaster launches you into the tunnel, splattering your food all over your body and the guests behind you. When you pull into the unloading station you take off your VR headset and realize it was all make-believe; you then proceed into the Rock and Roll themed dining room to be served your 5-star meal curated by and with the help of Chef Gordon Ramsey.

LASSETER'S
Recognizing that the Paradise Pier Hotel overlooking DCA (which was originally a third party property which Disney purchased) is the weak link in Disneyland Resort's hotels, its undergoes a substantial remodel/upgrade into the Pixar Pier Hotel, crowned with the new fine-dining centerpiece Lasseter's.

Named for Pixar's creative mastermind John Lasseter and tastefully adorned with Pixar concept art and memorabilia, Lasseter's on the Pixar Pier Hotel's penthouse floor provides tiered table seats overlooking DCA's Pixar Pier, with dinners carefully timed to provide astounding views (and piped-in music) for both World of Color and Disneyland's fireworks.

In keeping with the boardwalk pier concept, Lasseter's specializes in exceptionally fresh five-star seafood designed by master seafood chef David Pasternack, notably raw oysters, chilled crudo and seasonal specials, plus select non-seafood dishes, all served in a subdued atmosphere of childlike wonder entirely in keeping with Pixar's brand.

NOTE: I failed to write this one from the Napa Rose. Had to settle for the local diner. :arghh:

Replacing the roof top pool at Paradise Pier, will be the new 5 star restaurant, Rising Tide. Keeping with the theme of a seaside boardwalk of this particular hotel, this restaurant serves mainly surf and turf dishes with an upscale palate and flair. The hidden treasure of the roof top restaurant is the open air lounge where guest can relax under strings of gently glowing lights, take in the sparkling lights of Disneyland Parks and if the timing is right, guests may catch the nightly fireworks show.

The Veranda

In the Adventureland Tower at the Disneyland Resort will be an indoor and outdoor fine dining location called the Veranda. It will serve the highest quality steak, fish, and desserts in a tropical paradise.
Welcome and thanks for posting first! I like the tie in with the Adventureland Veranda in the Adventureland Tower! I'm guessing this will be some sort of extension and with Trader Sam's in the vicinity as well this actually might be a neat addition!

Wow! A whole new resort and restaurant - props for creativity. Major points for the uniqueness of putting it in a brand new resort - the only slight downside to that is in 3 sentences, it's hard to get a scope of where the restaurant will be/what surroundings are etc - compared to something in a pre-existing park. But I like the sound of the resort and being a S.E.A. fan I'm always up for more!

Welcome back as well, Pi! The first thing I thought of when reading this was one, how awesome an idea this would be, but two - on my last trip I realized the Boardwalk Resort lobby had paintings of each Disney resort castle all around the walls. I guess I hadn't been there enough to notice, but I really liked that touch, and I think the Disneyland Resort is the perfect place for this type of restaurant.

Got a good laugh and surprise out of this one lol -- but $70 mandatory!:p This is probably the most off the wall proposal I've seen in the last few rounds - so definite props for that! :bookworm:

Local diner or not this is still a top notch proposal! Especially given the remodel of Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier - a move like this makes a lot of sense from a realism standpoint. It would definitely tie in much better and might spruce up the resort itself, similar to how Art of Animation did in WDW to the value resorts. Also (not sure if your image or not) but that view of World of Color is amazing from the top deck!

Another! - to quote Thor, another roof top 5-star restaurant at Paradise Pier (and the more I hear this, the more I wonder why something like these doesn't exist up there!)

I do like the open air lounge especially without the humidity of Florida to worry about in Cali, this would be a great place to relax and unwind after a day in the parks. :geek:

Both fun and intriguing proposals, one more on the realistic side with less detail, another with plenty of detail but a bit on the wild side haha

Two very strong proposals, one creating an entire new resort! The other pulling from classic Disney castles and parks to create a unique location for the Disneyland Resort

Paradise Pier rooftop location was a great choice, and keeping the boardwalk, theme as well. It might have gotten gold if it wasn't for one project that went a bit above and beyond in not only its descriptions but also its lengths of realism

As always - great job to everyone and thank you all for participating - let's get on with Challenge 8! :)
