One of the Most Underrated Restuarants at Magic Kingdom.

I was strolling down the usual Main Street yesterday evening and decided to take the route through the old Noodle Station/Terrace. Walking past that small restaurant, The Plaza Restaurant, I thought I would try it. Well it turned out to be one of the best Reuben Sandwiches I've ever had, up there with some of the best places I've eaten at Magic Kingdom. Bread was perfectly toasted, the beef seasoned and cooked perfectly, not overly saturated in Russian dressing; it was overall a great sandwich. My friend agreed, his was great as well. The decor was classic Main Street, and I really liked it even further do to it's small size. There were no tables basically on top of each other like you would find at other more popular table service, and the noise level was very low. Perfectly relaxing for anyone having a long day at the Kingdom. Also, it's perfect for any locals or people not on the Dining Plan, it was very cheap; but it's mostly sandwiches so don't expect a 5 course meal. Thanks for reading, I just felt sorry for the restaurant since I don't think it has enough credit.

I agree. The plaza is one of our favorites. We happened upon it by accident one time and we loved it. It's good old fashioned comfort food.

No
My only issue with the Plaza is its very limited menu. What they have is good, but there's not much to choose from IMO.

DD tried it for the first time last year and said it was OK..we are going to try it for the first time as a family this August!! I hear the steak and cheese is good! I think that is what i will get!!! Hoping it is good as food choices are so limited in the MK......

I am SO glad to hear this! I have been going back and forth about doing lunch there or not. The no bathroom thing kind of freaks me out as DD1 usually has to use the potty at least 4 times while we are eating. Ugh! lol Hopefully there is one close enough.

There is one immediately next-door to the restaurant, you just have to go outside to get to it.

It's not unlike Garden Grill, where the restrooms are outside the restaurant itself, and are the public ones over by the elevator. (Though I'll admit it's not 100% the same situation, as you don't have to go outdoors to get to them like you do Plaza Restaurant)

Just be warned -- it's not that much of a "best kept secret" -- at times it is completely booked up and you need ADR's just like all the other places.

Another word of warning: those of you on low-carb diets, there is ZERO on the menu here that you can eat, besides some anemic salads. Not the place for low carb folks.

We tried The Plaza for the first time 2 or 3 years back. We were quite happy with it! I think the dessert was the best........I ate a huge banana split that was to die for!!!:slurp:

we've eaten there several times. it's one of my daughters favorites so when she goes we usually do a lunch there. the menu is basic american but i think the number of choices is about the same number of offerings at any of the other disney venues. i think for inside the mk it's the best choice available especially if you don't like buffets and you want something that isn't fried.

On my honeymoon we had the deluxe dining plan for 12 days. There are a limited number of places to eat at MK as I am sure you are well aware. So, we decided to try The Plaza once. We loved it, and have eaten there every return trip fo lunch since. Very good and simple. The food does not sit heavy on you while you are running amok the rest of the day.

Not old, just vintage.
I do enjoy going to The Plaza. Most of the TS options in MK have zero appeal to me. I prefer to go to one of the Monorail resort restaurants instead, but if I must stay inside MK, I will always try for a Plaza ADR. The menu isn't huge but the few things they do serve are always well prepared. I rarely do the DDP so I like that it is relatively cheap.
