One more time what's the deal?

I know this has been asked before but I am being lazy right now. Should I expect high crowds because of free dining if I booked a trip in Sept?

Really!?! I mean, it's all relative, I suppose!?! But I thought September had amazing low crowds!!! We walked onto Peter Pan, we walked onto Space Mountain, etc. Compared to June, there was tumbleweeds blowing through the place!

Maybe compared to Septembers in the past it has become a busy time due to the free dining promotion. For someone like me who had only traveled during a busy time I thought September was great for crowds!

I originally typed no, but two character responses are not accepted on the forums.

So no then? Sorry, it's been a LONG day and I just didn't want to look up old threads. Thanks:)
September is generally fairly quiet, that's why they offer free dining at that time of year. It mostly drags people out of non-Disney hotels into the resorts, so the attendance might bump up a bit, but not much.

And my apologies for my original flippant response... I had a long day too!

Free dining helps put more people into Disney owned resorts, and will make restaurants more crowded, yes. But overall number of people in the parks is much lower than compared to summer and holiday periods.

We went in September 2008 with free dining, the second or third week of the month. Wait times were minimal for all of the attractions except the headliners, and even then, the waits weren't too bad. (With Fastpass, even those wait times were cut down.) I don't think we waited more than 20 minutes for anything the whole week we were there.

Make your dining reservations as close to the 90 day mark as you can, and enjoy your trip!

We went last Sept during free dining and it wasn't that bad at all. We got to do everything we wanted except in animal kingdom because the park closed at 5 PM! That said you will enjoy that time of year. The value resorts are crowded obviously because of the dining plan. We stayed at AS music and they played movies at the pool. It was nice coming back form the parks and cooling off while they played a movie. Enjoy!

I know I love the whole movies by the pool thing they do at Music!!! I was very surprised by that when we stayed there in 2007. They even did fun things around the pool during the day and one night had a dance party before the movie played. I thought that was so cute! I wonder if they only do this at the Music resort? I stayed at AsMovies several times before and they never did anything like that.

I always plan my AK day for a night they have evening EMH. Great to ride EE after dark and then have a 2030 ADR at Boma to finish off the evening! :D

My wife and I went durring free dinning in '06 and '07. We made our ressies as late as we could so we could enjoy the Food and Wine Festival. We love going at that time of the year, we will be at Pop Century end pf sep. this year as well. Last year my parents took whole family durring Christmas. Back to my point that we never waited more than 20 minutes or so for any ride. And, durring EMH wait times were zero, you could walk on every ride.
