That 81 Page Fantasyland project was a masterpiece that would have won if two things got cut from it.
I will freely admit that we went way overboard both in our write up and the scope of the expansion. But I absolutely loved that project and the things we did!

One of my favorite projects I've ever had the pleasure to be a part of!

My biggest regret will always be not cutting Brave, cutting the Belle storybook Ride back into a Pays des Contées des Fées refurb, and keeping the Figment ride as a French Journey Into Imagination because I think those were the biggest criticisms.

I kinda like that it was a giant, overcrowded monstrosity of a project. But, for the sake of trying to win and actually not being so overdone, some stuff definitely should've been cut. Probably the whole Dream Port area and the Poppins ride could have been cut and we just focus on the Woods. Or cut the woods and just focus on developing the Dream Port and Poppins.

But it is tough to say because every part of that project had so much good stuff in it!

PRO TIP: for the new players for this competition. Don't ever do an 81 page long project with like 8-10 rides plus shops and restaurants. Also, definitely do that because it was a ton of fun lol.

It had less to do with the individual components and more to do with the length of the project.

To use an analogy, it was like sitting down in a movie theater expecting a 2-3 hour film, and instead receiving a 10 hour season of a TV show. The expectations of the viewer/reader was to watch Lord of the Rings, not an entire season of Game of Thrones in one night.

Both are great in their own right, but the length of a TV season doesn't work in a movie theater setting. The viewer/reader gets exhausted, and the story/purpose gets lost. While the land was slightly larger and more expensive than expected - if there was more thought put into the editing process, condensing detail of the TV show (84 pages) into a 'feature film' format (maybe half?) -- yes, the project would have won.

That being said, I still stand by my decision 100% ;)

Ah but when you condense a TV show down to a feature film, you end up with The Last Airbender (never end up with The Last Airbender)
Then more thought should have been given to the length as the project kept expanding. Nobody stopped to think, "hey, people are going to read this. Would I be able to read this efficiently in one sitting or is it too dense?"

Also let's not forget there were some other stellar projects that Stanza - one of the greatest first rounds of imagineering I've ever seen.

Ok yeah that’s fair. I’ll concede on that I just wanted to make a Last Airbender joke

Including the debut of a really cool Project Manager :p

Welcome aboard! I can't wait to see what kind of amazing stuff you do in this game! I still consider your Western River Expedition to be one of the highlights of the forum!

Saw this rumor on Reddit. If it's true, what would you like to see them do with Heimlich? Retheme? Keep the bugs? What park? Turn it into a dessert party character m&g/movie preview center?

If they're keeping the bugs, animal kingdom sounds like the best bet. But a Bug's Life is almost 20 years old now, so a retheme to a more relevant property makes the most sense to me.

A Bug's Land is always the least crowded part of DCA, they might be preparing for a retheme like Pixar Pier.
