Also if I'm gonna spend the money for a deluxe -- I'm still going to one of the classics. GF, Poly, Contemp, WL or Beach Club/Boardwalk

None of the recent hotels have really interested me because they are all too similar in design - if you told me this was a new Marriott I wouldn't think twice.
Based on the concept art, I can't even fathom a guess at the theme or what makes it special. Unless the theme is supposed to be Disney's Every Hotel Built from 2015-2018 Resort

Riviera, Coronado Tower, Swolphin 3rd Tower, even the WL cabins, and now this -- it's all the same sleek modern designs, with different color patterns.

Although @MonorailRed knows my harboring of ill will to AKL for the long bus wait that one time lol - Kidani Village was not that long ago...how can they go from something like that to just these generic 'deluxe' resorts baffles me.

If people want to stay at a contemporary hotel, they can go to the other side of the canal; literally.
