Sorry it took me so long to sign up!
What is your favorite armchair imagineering project you've worked on?
Oh, jeez, that's a tricky one... I still have some fondness for my "improving Walt Disney World" projects from this forum, even if they're pretty outdated now. Maybe those?
What would you say is your greatest strength as an armchair imagineer?
I'm good at art.
What is something you would like to try to improve on?
Contributing more to a project that isn't just art.

Since this seems like a discussionish thread I went to Zoo Miami today and saw some great animal moments today @PerGron 🥳

Saw an Asian elephant pee for about two minutes

Saw some Orinoco Crocodiles enjoying each other’s company’s a bit too much 😅

Was enjoying my day watching the pygmy hippos enjoy their new exhibit when a gift fell from an ibis above me 🙃

For these keeping count this marked the second time tcool has been pooped on by a bird at a zoo 😅

And interestingly enough were these basilisks

Let’s take a closer look shall we?

Now I’m no animal expert but unless the basilisk was eaten by someone else they ain’t here. @PerGron do you per chance recognize these reptiles? I’m assuming gila monsters from the scale patterns. Also for those wondering the basilisks have a display in the Mission Everglades section of the zoo so you won’t miss out in the creature :)

Some pretty awesome moments there! I was questioning if I’d ever seen an Orinoco crocodile in person but I remembered Brookfield Zoo in Chicago had one, but still a super cool rarer species!

As for the question of the basilisk imposters, it’s hard to tell because I can’t see the face, but it could be a Gila monster, but it could also be a Mexican beaded lizard which looks super similar and are also venomous (those guys are two of three venomous lizards alongside the Komodo dragon). Either way, definitely not a basilisk haha!

A really minor side-note and personal qualm that literally couldn’t matter less, but the green basilisk (Basciliscus plumifrons) has a ton of names, including green basilisk, double-crested basilisk, plumed basilisk, or the Jesus lizard (due to their ability to run atop water) but of all of the common names, I have never seen any reputable source call them “green crested basilisks” and as a nomenclature pedant this sign stressed me out so freaking much lol
