Old Imagination props in the current Imagination ride

Ok, for some odd reason, I decided to watch a video of the current JII ride and I thought I noticed a few original props, but I wasn't sure. For example, the scene where figment sings One Little Spark after the explosion, that looks a lot like the room where Dreamfinder's blimp was. Also, I saw that the mountains might be from the nightmare scene. I know the astronaut Figment and the Figment that holds the rainbow coming out of the pot are originals, but I was wondering if the Figment that tells you to go to his open house before the touch in taste lab is the Figment that sings One Little Spark at the very end of the ride that was surrounded by the TV screens of Figment's dreams. And then the Figment that pops up on the phone in the sound lab, is that the Figment that popped up on Dreamfinder's balloon?

So yeah. That's a lot of questions. :)

In one of my many visits to EPCOT, i had a friend visit with me once and we viewed these items up close in the queue about three years ago. He stated that several pieces from this display could very likely have been from the original ride.

He noted that several of the pieces displayed in this area are parts of old late 70s/early 80s electronics. Some projector parts, lighting parts, and a few hunks of junked electronics. It is a possibility that those particular parts may have been from the original rides operational equipment that was scrapped.
He came away with that impression, as did i, once we knew what the items in question were. It was a cool discovery of sorts, and also a teeny bit melancholy. We both adored the original attraction.

We had a fun 20 minutes looking over the pieces, and i enjoying listening to him ramble off accurate descriptions of what all that stuff was.
The more obvious items i had recognized beforehand from seeing them as show elements in the original JII ride. Longtime fans will surely recognize them....

The oblong glass domed item show in the photo above is from the Dreamport segment of the original attraction. I recall it containing a *jacobs ladder* electrical effect, and three or more were present. The compass-like dial that appears in the upper left of the photo is also from the original ride i believe, from either the Imaginometer in the Dreamport, or from Dreamfinder*s ship that signals the bag of ideas was *full*. Hard to remember right now...it has been a while since i have looked at these caged items myself in person.
A better photo of that area and i could know for sure.

Martin may well have already covered all of this stuff in his Tribute Video.
This just gives me the perfect excuse to just go and watch it !

:)

Man i miss the original JII.....

Epcot really screwed up that spot, that ride had good attendence and now it has none. Ushrualey they don't upgrade and let things fall apart and sadly... I think that pavilion would have done much better just by leaving it to rot the way it was. The Refuebishment would have been more successful and more people would have visited that spot if they just gave it a fresh coat of paint, a color scheme upgrade if needed, new carpets, a cleanup, some upgrades, flat screens for image works and repairs. And they could have spent less money. Now it's a vacant moneypit. I can't even believe that pavilion is still open. It would have been smarter to keep Wonders of Life and close the imagination pavilion.

It makes me sad to think it has been changed! I loved the original as a child... I still have my Figment stuffed toy, and pics with Dream Maker and Figment! Figment actually stuck a finger in my ear! What a memory!
