I got a strange surprise to some music I haven't heard in a while. Not sure if it's all origional or mixed with some new but as of now I am hearing music that I used to hear in the early 00's. Some music I don't recognise but I really like it. On top of that they light the fountains up at the last announcement which I have never seen before.

Didn't hear one long from the loop they played from the last couple years, at least not within the whole half hour before the show.

Please tell me they didn't do away with Hevia - Busindre Reel.

Standing on the shore of WS lagoon and listening to that stellar music prior to Illuminations has got to be the most epic few minutes of any Disney vacation..
That is my favorite song as well.

It wasn't playing during my Sept 2013 trip. I was devastated to hear the old loop. I love the current one that features Busindre Reel.

The newer loop was playing for my Dec 2013 trip, so I was happy again.

How often do they alternate, is it every other night, every week, completely random? Also do they still play Montezuma in the old loop, or is it too close to the cutoff at 9pm?

You know, I enjoy the Illuminations pre-show music.. when I can hear it.
I've really only successfully heard any pre-show stuff on the v24/srsounds radio.
It's sort of sad really that I have trouble hearing the music over the crowds.

I watched Illuminations last night and it was the old loop. I was bummed not to hear Busindre Reel.
I was also a little bummed to get the new music loop last night, but was more disappointed by the lack of the inferno barge at the beginning. The alternate pyro was well done, but just doesn't have the same impact

I was also surprised that the old loop didn't include John Williams' Appalachian Morning. Although I've listened to the old loop online several times, that's the only song that I really remember having heard in the park way-back-when

It was overbearing and bigger then ever when I saw it.
